Night fell. Time ticked by. Dawn came again. Saint Grace Nunnery got another visit from the men of the Duke’s estate on the fourth day, but its answer to their inquiry was the same as last time.

The visitors didn’t make a scene at Saint Grace Nunnery. Gabriel knew where his son was, but he didn’t have the evidence to prove that.

He let his men linger around Mount Westin and keep watch on the people at Saint Grace Nunnery. Unfortunately, they found nothing since Eliza didn’t leave the mountain at all.

At the pocket farm, Eliza delivered the food to Dylan in the metal cage. Then, she sat down and stared at the two men as usual. “Starved… I am starved…” Matthew murmured as he was at his limit.

In the past four days, he had no food or water. He might starve to death if things went on like this. “Dylan, give me… give me food, please…” he pleaded.

Red–eyed, Matthew stared at the food in Dylan’s hand. His pride two or three days ago had been replaced by hunger. His hoarse voice made Dylan’s hand freeze.

“Full?” Eliza asked. It was a warning. Dylan quickly ate the last bit of his food and then handed the plate to Eliza. “Have you made up your mind?” Eliza turned to Matthew and asked.

Holding the plate, she repeated her question. “Bet?” Immediately, Matthew shouted frantically, “No! No! No! I dare you to starve me to death. I would rather die here than give you Stone Sea Manor.”

Eliza calmly watched Matthew make a scene. After a nod, she said, “Okay.” Without hesitation, she turned around and walked away. Her decisiveness frightened Matthew.

Few people could remain calm at the serious risk of death. Eliza had been freaked out when Matthew killed her with seppuku. She would love to share her once experience of fear and despair with Matthew and wished him to be tough. Now, she was more interested in Matthew’s limit than in Stone Sea Manor. After Eliza left, Dylan pulled a bite of food out of his mouth and stuffed it into Matthew’s.

Matthew was supposed to resent the food containing Dylan’s saliva, but he was too starved to do that. He even carefully picked up the bits of food from his clothes and put them into his mouth.

“Matthew, give her what she wants, or you will die here,” Dylan persuaded after Matthew felt much better. “Eliza h changed. She won’t stop till she achieves her goal.”

“So what?” Matthew’s bloodshot eyes burned with malice. “Dad must be looking for us. Perhaps tonight, or tomorrow, he will find us. Eliza will get punished for the strong evidence and the witnesses.”
