Chapter 328
The Duke’s estate was destined for a chaotic year.
However, Eliza was having a carefree time this year.
“Want to head down the mountain tomorrow night for the Light Show? Nolan suddenly asked.
“Light Show?” Eliza blinked, then asked, “What Light Show?”
“Tomorrow’s New Year’s Eve, Nolan explained, “Hasen City is hosting its annual Light Show as usual.”
It was only then that Eliza realized half a year had passed since she had requested to join Saint Grace Nunnery. Time had flown by, and it was New Year’s Eve.
Once New Year’s Eve was over, it was the start of a new year.
Eliza exhaled a puff of warm air, rubbed her chilled hands together, and smiled. “Sounds good. But I’ll need to check with Mary first.”
Nolan’s gaze lingered on her small hands, noticing they were slightly red from the cold.
The next day, after finishing her tasks, Eliza shared the matter with Reverend Mary Mendoza.
“Of course,” Mary replied with a warm smile.
“Go and enjoy yourself. Don’t keep yourself so tightly wound,” Mary added.
After performing a small cleansing and warding ritual for the last visitor, Mary gave everyone at Saint Grace Nunnery a half–day off.
Starting tomorrow, the nunnery would be bustling with activity, hosting various blessing ceremonies. A large number of visitors were expected, and only Mary and Eliza were capable of leading those events. It meant not only would the others be busy, but Mary and Eliza would be even more overwhelmed, with little to no time for rest in the near future.
Eliza wasn’t surprised by the news. In fact, she felt a sense of relief.
After all, she was the one who left the nunnery most often. While her unique status justified it, being too exceptional sometimes disrupted the nunnery’s harmony.
Therefore, knowing she’d soon be caught up in a whirlwind of work, she found it oddly comforting.
“In this just another way to find freedom? Eliza thought.
After spending the afternoon with Mary arranging the nearly two–week–long prayer ceremonies, Eliza went back to her quarters to change.
Moments later, Eliza appeared outside the gates of Saint Grace Nunnery, dressed in a modest outfit that didn’t draw much attention.
Her silky hair flowed freely from beneath her sea–green cap, half cascading down her back like a waterfall, while the other half was casually pinned with a hairpin.
Paired with her relaxed yet elegant dark green dress, she stood there exuding serenity and grace.
Nolan, who had been waiting outside for quite some time, turned around, his gaze flickering slightly.
Since Eliza had taken her vows, he hadn’t seen her in anything other than her nun’s robes.
Now, seeing her dressed like that again, it stirred a different kind of emotion within him, one that was hard to ignore.
Reper followed closely beside Eliza, her face brimming with excitement.
“Holy Lady, Prince Nolan has arrived as well.” Renee announced cheerfully.
“Yeah, let’s go,‘ Eliza replied with a famt smile
