Fane did not care about how everyone else regarded him. He merely looked at Lionel with a cold expression. When Lionel saw that Fane had stepped forward, Lionel looked elated. He scoffed and said, "Brat, you sure are something else! You know I won't let you off, yet you're still coming right at me!"

Earlier, Lourain had jumped off the Path of Fate very quickly. Lourain had jumped off before he could really do anything painful to Lourain, so Lionel had lost his chance, which he lamented.

What surprised everyone was the fact that the seals did not float in the air but sank into the ground instead. The Path of Fate was made with a special green stone, and there were faint green runes carved on the stone. The whole Path of Fate glowed in a subtle green light which got darker the closer it was to the floor. When the seals touched the ground, they were covered by the faint green glow.
