“How much longer?” I look at Thomas using the mirror, he’s looking more and more like Fraction everyday. He even has the brooding Alpha male look his father gets, right now he’s shooting the look at me as he sits next to Hysion and Aurora in the back of the SUV.
“Not much longer bud, are you excited to see daddy?” I try to keep my voice upbeat but it’s a tense time and the pups can feel it in the air. Especially Aurora, ever since Fraction left she’s either been curled up with me or in her own bed with Hysion right alongside her.
“Yeah, I guess.” Thomas sounds like he wishes he could be anywhere but on his way to see his father but I know he’s excited. He’s just reached an age where he’s trying to act all cool and missing your father’ is apparently not cool. Keeping my eyes on the car ahead of me I see Patrick indicating to leave the freeway, I quickly change lanes and follow him. Last night I got a call from Fraction, he was saying that he was going to be at Everfur for a few more days. I don’t mind him being gone but I’m worried about why he’s gone. So I grabbed James and Patrick, piled the pups into the car and set off. It’s been a long drive with three little ones in the back but thanks to iPads and some strategically placed snacks it looks like we’ve made it. The phone ringing has Eliza’s name popping up on the display, pressing the green button I can hear their car tell Patrick where to go.
“Rick said to stay close, he doesn’t know the area so he wants to be able to see your car the whole time.” I smile and flash my lights as Eliza speaks through the speakers in the car.

chuckles before disconnecting the call, sitting up in my seat, I keep my eyes on Patrick’s car as we start driving through a town that looks like time forgot.
It isn’t long before I’m pulling up behind Patrick and Eliza, this is not our Pack so we have to follow Pack rules which means we stay here until either the Alpha or Beta come to meet us.
“Stay here, don’t take your belts off.” I turn around in the seat to see Thomas is the only one awake, he just nods his head at me as he looks out of the window, I’m sure he’s looking for Fraction. Jumping from the car I walk over to Patrick who is standing next to his own car.
“I text him, he’s on his way with Cas now,” Patrick is looking around as if he’s waiting for danger to just jump out at us.
“You can relax, you know, I doubt we are going to be attacked in the middle of the day outside of the Pack.” I try to make light of the situation but Patrick just looks at me with a look that says ‘really’.
“His Luna was taken from his garden and need I remind you of our kitchen?” I don’t say anything in return because I can see Fraction walking along the road with an equally tall blonde haired guy I know to be Cas. Also, there isn’t much I can say when he’s right. I start to wave enthusiastically but the hand on my shoulder stops me moving forward.
“What? He’s right there.” I grump at Patrick.
“Wait, don’t want to go pissing off an already tense Alpha.” Patrick holds up his hand to Fraction and Cas once they are closer, it’s the universal manly hello without actually saying it.
“Luna Anna, welcome to Everfur. Please come on in,” no sooner than

the words out of Cas’s mouth I’m jumping into Fraction’s arms and fusing our mouths together. I wind my fingers into his soft hair and pull him closer to me, moaning into his mouth, I pour all of my need into the kiss. It’s
Deen almost two weeks since he left Swiftmane to come and help Cas, we haven’t been apart for this long in a while. I break the kiss when I hear a cough and a laugh from next to us, I try to slide down Fraction but he keeps his hands on my as s refusing to let
me go.
“Hey little wolf.” He joins his forehead to mine and for a minute I relax against him and just stare into his eyes. “Did you bring my pups?”
“They’re in the car, we thought leaving all five with James was a little much.” I turn my head to see Patrick speaking to Fraction as he shakes Cas’s hand.
“Shall we get them to the Pack house? Sally has set them up a room and is currently cooking them a mini feast.” Cas smiles but I can see the sadness and tension in his face, I don’t know who.Sally is but I just nod my head as Fraction carries me to the SUV.
After some food and meeting Sally, Rowan and Selena the pups have all gone down for a nap. It’s been a long day for them and despite napping in the car they are still knackered. We are all sitting at the kitchen table thanks to Cas’s office being too small for all of us. I’m looking at the map while Cas and Fraction lay out the plan for tonight.
“Wait, where will I be?” Cas is going over the formation but he hasn’t mentioned me yet.
“You’re not coming little wolf, I want you here to help look after Mary and the pups.” I slump back in my chair and stick my tongue out at Fraction, I don’t want to stay here but I get it. Someone needs to keep an eye on the pups and after Aurora being kidnapped we always prefer it to be one of us or at least someone we know very well.

“Eliza, are you sure you’re up to this?” I press my lips together as Cast as Eliza if she’s ready for a fight. Eliza sits up a little straighter, she’s used to being questioned as a female warrior.
“Eliza is a strong warrior.” Patrick sticks up for his mate and places a hand on her arm, it’s his way of telling her to simmer down. Eliza can have one hell of a temper should the occasion call for it.
“Who’s going to guard your prisoners if we are all out in the field?” Eliza looks around the table as if she’s noticing the obvious flaw in their plan. “I can’t imagine you are going to leave two shifters unguarded?”
“They won’t be, Selena is not only a Doctor but she’s a trained warrior. She will be on guard for us.” Cas answers quickly, Eliza’s eyes meet mine and she raises an eyebrow.
“Is that the best idea? What if Eva or Heath are hurt, wont you need your Doctor there?” Fraction nods his head as I voice, the obvious. problem, “in my experience having a Doctor on hand could be helpful.”-
“I thought of that but I can’t afford to leave a warrior behind, if they are there I need all the man power I can get. The bar is only a fifteen minute drive from the Pack land, we can get them back here pretty quick.” Cas looks down at the map with a frown, he’s obviously concerned about his mate being hurt but with his Pack so short on warriors I can understand his predicament.
“I’m sorry, you’re right.” Fraction pats my arm as I apologise to Cas, it’s his Pack and of course he’s welcome to run it how he wants.
“Everyone is out front Alpha.” Rowan steps into the room with his beautiful mate alongside him, she’s wearing a pair of leggings and a sports bra. She drops a bag on the breakfast bar and waves at us as she exits through the door onto the back garden.

“You don’t leave the Pack house.” Fraction mutters as he closes the door to the room the pups are all sleeping in.
“Of course I wont and you don’t get yourself killed.” Fraction leans down and places a kiss on my cheek, he nuzzles his nose against my neck before pulling back from me.
“It’s a handful of rogues, I’ll be fine.” I watch as he heads down the stairs, I start to bite at my bottom lip as the worry sets in. Just a handful of rogues or not, it could still go badly and it could cost. everyone involved. I find myself sending a silent prayer to the
Goddess, I hope not only that Eva and Heath are,ver to the
everyone comes back safely.
