The substitute bride is a mute novel Chapter 13

Dominic's car was a gray Infinity. The exterior had a subtle design. It gave her the same vibe he did—mellow and gentle.

He was the exact opposite of Clark Reid.

Clark often drove around in a black Maybach. It was an eye-catching luxury car worth two million dollars.

Why did she suddenly think of him?

Judy bit her bottom lip out of frustration and glanced out the window.

The car had just left the manor as Sally and Lora coincidentally returned. The housekeeper stopped in her tracks.

"Ma'am, wasn't that Mr. Phelps' car?"

Sally nodded. "Why?"

Lora was hesitant. "I just saw… Mrs. Reid in his car."

Sally's face darkened immediately. "Are you sure?"

She nodded solemnly. "Yes. Mrs. Reid sat in the passenger seat. They seemed like they were getting along."

The woman went silent as she glanced in the direction of the gate. Her gaze darkened. "Find out how they met."

Back at the hospital, the pair headed toward Lilly's room as soon as they arrived.

Judy heard her grandmother's laugh as she reached the door. Through the glass door, she spotted the nurse telling her jokes.

Her heart warmed at the sight of Lilly’s gentle smile.

She pushed the door open and Lilly lifted her head. Her eyes lit up as she saw her. "Juju!"

Lilly was extremely excited. Judy rushed over to help her as she shook her head and signed, "You just recovered, you can't get out of bed. You should rest."

Upon her nagging, Lilly lay back on bed. She smiled and said, "My body is still tough, I feel like I'm brimming with energy."

Judy smiled softly. She then peeled an apple and dug out pieces of it into a bowl with a spoon. Afterward, she set a fork in the bowl and handed it to Lilly.
