Austin frowned.
Nonetheless, he totally understood where Sam was coming from.
After all, Sam had a wife and a daughter. He was from an ordinary family. Dent, on the other hand, seemed to be a no-good bully.
Sam didn't seem to want to provoke Dent, for his family's sake.
"How about this," Austin proposed.
"I can wait here while you call for help. But, you'd better call Dent over here as well."
"The arrogance!"
The men Austin was talking to snapped indignantly, shocked at his audacity.
"Viola, we need to leave,"
Sam said to his daughter, his face paling slightly.
"No, stay right where you are,"
Austin said firmly.
"Just wait."
The second Austin finished speaking, Sam and his daughter found that they were glued to place, completely unable to move.
"Sir, I don't want to get involved,"
Sam pleaded. He knew it was the young man before him that froze them in place. "Please just let us go."
"Don't worry," Austin said with a smile.
"You'll be fine! I promise."
"What's going on?" Sam demanded,
his stomach tying knots in fear.
Without answering him, Austin abruptly turned to face the men.
"Hurry up," he ordered. "Or else you'll be doomed to stay here forever."
"Fine," one of the men spat, clearly furious.
"Call the others. Let's see how long this guy can stay arrogant."
"But we can't even move," a companion replied. "How will we inform the others?"
Only then did the men realize that they too were frozen in place.
They couldn't even move their fingertips!
"You," Austin said, pointing at one of the men.
"Go summon the others."
Immediately, the man was able to move his arms.
Stunned, he stared at Austin with eyes full of fear.
Grumbling, the man brought out a communication tool and sent a message.
"This guy might be remarkable, but he won't stand a chance against the Green Bamboo Gang!" he muttered under his breath.
The Earth, at this point in time, was a world where martial arts developed alongside science and technology.
Actually, the growth of martial arts had promoted the growth of science and technology.
In this world, now there were many technological products that Austin had never seen or heard of before.
This gadget in the man's hand was one of them.
After the man activated the communication tool, a curtain of light appeared in front of him immediately.
A muscly man with an intimidating face appeared on the curtain of light.
"Drake, why are you calling me this time? I'm busy!"
the muscly man shouted exasperatedly.
"Hoffman, bad news,"
the man said hurriedly.
"There's this guy in the Oasis Park who's stirring up some trouble. Not only did he stop us from collecting taxes, he also insulted the Green Bamboo Gang in public!"
"What?!
How dare he?
Does he want to die?
Who the hell is he?"
The strong man's questions came one after the other.
"It's that guy!" The man called Drake pointed at Austin.
"Hoffman, he's weird...
Please send some strong cultivators to deal with him!"
"Why, you piece of shit!"
From the curtain of light, the muscled man looked straight at Austin.
"Come over and face me, if you dare." Austin smiled smugly.
"I'll be waiting."
Julian watched this scene unfolding before him with great interest.
He wasn't afraid of divine gods, let alone these weaklings of the Earth. Thus, it was amusing to him to see these men challenge Austin.
"Sir, please let the two of us go,"
Sam begged, his eyes filled with desperation.
"When people of the Green Bamboo Gang come, we will be in great trouble.
We can't afford to offend the Green Bamboo Gang."
