"Zander, I have something very important to discuss with you,"
the white-haired, old man said.
"What is it?
Go ahead."
Zander looked at his master with confusion etched into his face. He had no idea what his master wanted to talk about.
"Okay. I'll just get straight to the point,"
the old man replied with a smile.
"It's about you and my granddaughter Chloe.
What do you think of her?
Be honest,"
the old man continued.
"Chloe?"
Zander was taken aback.
"Grandpa, you..."
Chloe trailed off. She knew what her grandfather wanted to say. Red tinged her cheeks and she hid her face behind her hands. Every couple of seconds, she would glance at Zander from between her fingers, waiting for his answer.
"Well..."
Zander hesitated.
He also knew what the meaning behind his master's question was.
His master had always wanted him to marry his granddaughter.
"Zander, just say whatever you're feeling,"
the old man urged.
"Well...
Chloe is smart and kind-hearted. She is a good girl,"
Zander answered.
He didn't dare to say anything offensive while his master and Chloe were standing in front of him.
"That's good.
I have one more question. Would you like to marry her?"
the old man asked, tilting his head to the side.
"Wait. Master, are you serious?"
Zander asked as his face was consumed with a look of shock.
He didn't think his master would be daring enough to just come out and ask it.
"Grandpa, what are you talking about?
Who said I was going to marry Zander?"
Chloe screamed. She was overcome with embarrassment.
"Come on. I know what thoughts have been travelling through your mind.
Zander is the most talented young man in our space sea. He would make a perfect husband for you,"
the old man encouraged.
"What do you think, Zander? Will you do it?"
he asked, looking straight into Zander's panicked eyes.
"Well..."
Zander didn't know what to say.
He was one of Austin's avatars.
How could he get married?
"Grandpa, stop!
I never said that I would marry Zander!"
Chloe shouted. Her face was entirely red now.
The fact that Zander had hesitated filled her with grief and embarrassment. She turned around and ran away.
"Silly girl. I was asking for your own good,"
the old man said, sighing.
"What do you think, Zander? Is it really that hard of a decision?"
the old man asked, turning back to face Zander.
"Master..."
Zander was so embarrassed that he couldn't come up with an answer.
