Chapter 4620
“Master York, this is a painite from the Western Dynasty I’ve been looking into,” the woman said.
“It’s said that the scent has passed down through the ages. Help me appraise how much this costs!
“I haggled for a long time before finally buying it for three hundred thousand dollars!”
Kade and the others immediately looked over.
Since Harvey could appraise gemstones, it wouldn’t be hard for him to look at antiques either.
Esther’s eyes twitched frantically; she crossed her arms, dao translate dot com silent as she maintained her high and mighty attitude without saying a word.
Harvey grabbed the painite, and smiled.
“The Western Dynasty? Are you sure about that?”
He snapped the so-called painite in half.
Everyone froze; even Kade was dumbfounded.
The middle-aged woman was shocked. She bought the item with three hundred thousand dollars, yet Harvey broke it without even any warning.
“How could you do that, Master York?!
That’s a national treasure !” she screamed.
Harvey gave the two halves of the painite back.
“This is clearly a fake.”
The crowd fell into an uproar.
“A fake?!”
“Look closely. The gem is probably real. It must’ve been dug out of the ground just recently.
“However, someone must’ve used machinery to inject agarwood powder inside it.
“The gem would only cost a few thousand dollars, but it was artificially made into a painite from the Western Dynasty.
“It must’ve been made just last week, too.
The place was no different from any other shady shop.
“I’m not buying anything here!”
“I’m returning this!”
“If you don’t let me, I’m calling the cops!”
The entire Empire Hall was in an uproar. A large group of people squeezed inside, with some holding receipts and antiques for one clear goal: to return them, no matter the cause.
Ensley and Esther were filled with despair.
They didn’t think that Harvey would even come up with such a plan.
His simple words were enough to collapse the entire shop.
They lost billions of dollars just because of this. Their reputation had already gone out the window, along with their business!
They were finished!
