Harvey York froze.

“Reuben Jean ousted Mandy Zimmer from her position?

“Is he not afraid to make a mess of the entire situation?”

Amora Foster quickly explained everything she knew.

“Last night, Reuben used his special privilege, available once every year, for Elodie Jean to take charge instead of Mandy.

“Today, he used his connections to try and keep the hundred- and-fifty-million dollar contract going.

“Simply put, he’s doing everything he can to keep Elodie in charge.”

“Did you agree to it then?” Harvey asked.

Amora smiled.

“Of course not.

“Then again, Reuben was a once prominent figure with many connections. He managed to get a few of the elders from the Foster family to talk to me about this.

“After telling them that you specifically requested this, they kept their mouth shut soon after!

“But even though we already declined Reuben, he’d still find other ways to compensate for the losses caused by Elodie’s rise.”

“It’s not that simple now, is it?

“Mandy and I signed the contract, but the Zimmer Enterprise would have to pay a hundred and fifty million dollars for damages if Mandy were to leave…”

“If I remember correctly, there should be a clause like that in the contract, right?”

Amora nodded.

“There is one, yes…”

“Go claim your debt then.

Though Harvey did not care about such a thing.

“The casino’s shut down?” he asked while lightly frowning.

“Darby’s locked up?

“Blaine’s also involved in the situation?”

Harvey also intended to shut down the casino, but he told Soren Braff to pause the operation for the time being since the John family was involved.

After all, letting Soren do such a thing would force the Hermit Families against the John family ahead of time.

Along with the Xavier family being a part of the top ten families, the Braff family would have a challenging time if they went to Wolsing in the future.

Then again, he did not expect it to still happen despite all that.

After pondering for a moment, Harvey showed a faint smile. “Does Soren know about this?”

“Not before. He does now.”

Amora sighed.
