When Noelle woke up, it was already bright outside. She had assumed Hendrix had already gone to work, but when she turned over, she found him still beside her.
He was propped up against the headboard, working on his laptop. The screen brightness was turned to its lowest, and the sound of his typing was barely audible.
Hendrix quickly noticed she was awake.
"You're awake." He closed his laptop and smiled at her. "Are you tired? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
It was only after he asked that Noelle became aware of the soreness in her body. But pain was nothing new to her now, so she simply shook her head lightly. "I'm fine."
"Are you hungry? I'll have someone bring you something to eat," Hendrix said, getting out of bed.
Noelle suddenly asked him, "Don't you have to go to work today?"
"Nope."
"Actually… you don't have to stay here with me all the time. I'm already better. Besides, is it really okay for a boss to skip work so often?"
Hendrix chuckled at her words. Then, he reached out and ruffled her hair. "What? Are you worried the company will collapse without me? Don't worry. I've already taken care of everything from home."
Noelle fell silent, her eyes lowering as if lost in thought.
Seeing that she had nothing else to say, Hendrix turned and left the room to arrange for food to be brought up.
Noelle slowly got out of bed and went to freshen up. By the time she came out of the bathroom, Hendrix had already set the food on the table.
"Why aren't we eating in the dining room?" Noelle asked.
Hendrix paused, then laughed. "For some reason, I just want to stay in the room with you."
As he spoke, he sat down beside her. Despite the spacious table and couch, he chose to sit right next to her.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
