Dan felt like he was uncovering something significant with Noelle standing beside Hendrix.
His mind raced, but he forced himself to step forward. “Mr. Freeman”
Hendrix barely glanced inside, and Dan understood immediately. “Don’t worry. I’ll handle it.”
Hendrix didn’t say anything more. He practically threw Noelle into the car first, then tossed the teddy into a nearby trash can.
Noelle watched his every move from the car. She opened her mouth to speak but ended up saying nothing.
Hendrix quickly got in, and the car sped off. Noelle’s heart raced as she turned to fasten her seatbelt. He didn’t so much as glance at her.
The scenery blurred as they drove, becoming more and more unfamiliar.
Noelle frowned and was about to ask where they were going when Hendrix suddenly slammed on the brakes. The jolt threw her forward. Her seatbelt yanked her back, but her head slammed into the seat, sending a sharp pain through her head..
She winced and turned toward Hendrix. His hand gripped the wheel tightly, his expression blank.
He looked calm, but the veins in his forearm were visible.
Noelle’s breath caught at the sight.
“When did you two get together?” he finally asked.
His words deepened her frown as she glanced at him, and his gaze darkened when he saw her expression. “I’m just friends with Clark,” she said. “Mr. Freeman, I’d appreciate it if you’d be more careful with your words.” “Friends?” Hendrix let out a sharp, bitter laugh.

“Noelle, the man might as well have ‘I want to sleep with you‘ written all over his face. Are you four years old? Do you really not see it, or are you pretending for his sake?” His words grew sharper with every word he spoke.
Noelle’s hands tightened. She stared at him for a moment before finally speaking, “Hendrix, not everyone is as twisted as you think.”

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
