Noelle had already finished her blood test. And now, she was sitting in a chair, waiting for the results. 

After a night of restless thoughts, her mind still felt a little empty. She wasn’t sure whether she was hopeful or fearful. 

She certainly wanted a child. After all, it would be a living: part of herself, something that would be forever connected to her. She had always felt alone in this world, and having a child would mean she would have a family. 

It was the one thing Noelle had longed for since she was young 

But she was also afraid. She feared she wouldn’t have the strength to protect the child. 

Even if she could bring the child into the world safely, what would happen if the Freeman family came to take them? 

Given Hendrix’s attitude, he likely wouldn’t allow her to keep the child. In that case, what could she do to fight him for custody?

While Noelle was thinking about this, someone suddenly sat down beside her. 

She had been keeping her head downl since earlier. People were walking by her continuously, but at this moment, she seemed to sense something and immediately raised her head. 

Hendrix was looking at her expressionlessly. 

Noelle’s face immediately changed, and she stood up without thinking. 

But the next moment, Hendrix grabbed her shoulder and pressed her back down into her seat. 

“Where else do you want to go?” His voice carried a clear hint of anger. 

Noelle didn’t answer, only raising her hand to try and pull les hand off. 

But the next moment, Hendrix said, “If you are really pregnant, let’s remarry.” 

His words seemed like something heavy was suddenly pressed down onto Noelle’s shoulders. Her movements froze, and she looked at him in disbelief. 

That night, Noelle had indeed thought about a lot of things. She thought about how Hendrix would handle the child, how she should protect them, and even ran through plans to escape the country. 

But what she never expected was for Hendrix to remarry her. 

“Just because of the child?” Noelle’s voice was rough. 

“Isn’t that reason enough? Or do you want to give birth to the child and give him to me?” 

“Impossible!”
