Noelle seemed to be followed by someone. 

Her job was to stay at home and paint, so she didn’t have many opportunities to go out, but once or twice a week, she would go out to buy some groceries. 

Normally, her outings were at random times, so it wasn’t likely anyone would be following her. 

And because of that, whenever she turned around, she didn’t notice anything unusual, so she didn’t really pay attention to it. 

Until one day, when she was heading to the supermarket, a motorcycle suddenly sped toward her. 

The motorcycle had a clear intention, and it was heading straight for her. Noelle was startled and took several steps back, just as someone else happened to be walking by! 

The motorcycle zipped past her and drove off into the distance. 

The howling wind seemed to still echo in Noelle’s ears, and her whole body froze as she was too scared to move. 

What stood out most to her was the look in the man’s eyes when he had glanced at her. It was as if he was going to tear her life apart, but Noelle knew very well that she didn’t recognize him. 

She didn’t want to think too much about it. At this point, she decided to skip the supermarket, pulled her coat tighter around her, and walked back home. 

After shutting the door, she felt her heart, which had been racing, finally start to calm down. Since she couldn’t go to the supermarket, she ordered takeout, and as usual, left a note for the delivery person to just leave the food at 

the door. 

However, half an hour later, someone knocked on her door 

“Your food is here,” a low voice sounded. 

Noelle frowned, but she still replied from her room, “Put it outside the door!” 

Nobody answered. 

After waiting for two minutes, Noelle walked toward the door. After making sure there was nobody outside, she opened the door. 

However, there was no food outside. 

Noelle froze for a moment. Just as she was about to call the delivery man, a cold blade pressed against her neck! 

What chilled her even more was the voice that followed, “Luna, long time no see.” 

Noelle’s face immediately changed, and as she quickly turned her head, she saw William’s face. 

Before she could react, he shoved her hard. He was so strong that she staggered a few steps, and before she could steady herself, he slammed the door shut. 

Then, he looked around, clicking his tongue. “How did you end up living in such a dump? Didn’t that little guy from the Freeman family give you any assets after your divorce? Wasn’t it all for nothing after you spent all those years with him?” 

Noelle didn’t answer. She just kept watching him as she retreated. 

Despite her body still trembling from fear, her mind quickly calmed down. Once she had put enough distance 

between them, she immediately turned and bolted toward her room.
