However, before Sandra’s lips could even touch Hendrix’s, he latter shoved her away. He used so much force that she stumbled back several steps before finally steadying herself.
She looked up at him. “Rix…”
“It seems you really have a poor memory.” Hendrix gazed at her coldly. “I’ll give you one more chance. Are you going to tell me or not?”
Sandra sat down on the floor and looked up at him without trace of fear in her eyes.
Hendrix suddenly laughed. “Fine. Have it your way.”
With that, he turned to leave.
As soon as his back was turned to her, Sandra suddenly said “It was my father who planned all of it.”
Her words made Hendrix stop in his tracks, Slowly, he turned around.
Sandra looked at him with red–rimmed eyes. “He did it because my mother’s condition is really bad, but Noelle refused to go through with the kidney donation. So, my father had no choice but to do it.”
Hendrix didn’t reply, but his expression darkened instantly. He couldn’t help but clench his hands into fists as veins on his forehead began to bulge one after another. Even so, he said nothing. He merely gave Sandra a cold, piercing look before turning and walking away.
The lawyer was waiting just outside the door. When Hendrix abruptly flung the door open and strode out, lawyer was momentarily stunned before quickly following him.
“Mr. Freeman!” he called out.

Inside the room, Sandra remained unmoving on the floor. After a while, she slowly stood up and walked over to the opposite side of the room to retrieve a hidden pinhole camera.
She began scrolling through the footage. Finally, she found the shot she wanted–the moment she rose onto her tiptoes, leaning in to kiss Hendrix.
Due to the angle, it wasn’t clear whether their lips had actually touched. But to anyone looking at the photo, it would undoubtedly appear to be an intimate kiss.
Sandra couldn’t help but smile.
At this time, Noelle wasn’t supposed to have any visitors, but Hendrix had pulled a lot of strings. Eventually, managed to bring the lawyer with him to see her.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
