Hendrix had thought Noelle would always be by his side no matter what, like a gentle spring that could tolerate all his flaws. 

He never considered that she might leave. Even less did he imagine that when she left, he would feel this much… pain. It was like losing the very air and water he needed to survive. 

So, he was wrong. 

But just like how he never gave her a chance to explain, now, she hadn’t given him a chance to keep her. Between them, she had already passed the sentence. 

Noelle went to work as usual in the next few days. 

The marriage between her and Dylan wasn’t a joke either. They had really discussed and decided on it. 

It was because Dylan’s grandfather, Donald Neuman, had not much time left. Donald wasn’t particularly old, but 

he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, commonly known as dementia, a while ago. 

His condition had worsened quite rapidly, and Dylan was his only grandson. His wish was to see his grandson get married while he was still somewhat clear–headed. 

Donald wasn’t as kind or easy to get along with as Noelle had imagined, but she understood. Given that she had divorced and almost went to prison, it was natural for them to think she wasn’t good enough for Dylan. 

The fact that Donald could still maintain composure and dignity during their meetings was already a lot. 

So, when Noelle heard this news, her heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.

request was too much, so he sounded hesitant when he said, “If you don’t agree, I won’t mind. This is a big moment in your life. You can’t…” 

“Do you have someone you like?” Noelle asked. 

Dylan paused for a brief moment and said, “I used to. But now, I know we are impossible.” 

Dylan’s response seemed to put Noelle at ease. She smiled lightly and replied, “Alright. As long as you’re willing, I’ll cooperate.” 

“You’re fine with it?” Dylan seemed genuinely surprised. “But what about Hendrix…” 

“There’s no way things could ever work out between me and him. So, honestly, it doesn’t really matter to me who I marry anymore.” 

That was enough to end the conversation. 

The two of them quickly came to an agreement. Noelle informed Hendrix that it was over, and her wedding with Dylan was promptly scheduled. 

Dylan’s grandmother was still dissatisfied with Noelle, but given that it was her husband’s wish, she chose not to oppose it. With that, Noelle managed to get her approval, albeit reluctantly. 

Due to the tight timeline, everything was kept simple. Thankfully, with the help of professional wedding planners, things moved quickly. They completed their wedding photoshoot and selected a venue for the ceremony. 

Soon after, Dylan shared the wedding invitation on his personal social media account.
