“That’s right.” Hendrix nodded satisfactorily. “We already Had bad blood, so why bother with fake pleasantries now?
He continued as he picked up the coffee cup in front of him “You must really wish for my death right now, don’t you?”
Hendrix’s voice was calm, with a faint smile on his lips, but the words he spoke were enough to leave Noelle speechless.
She paused for a moment, but she quickly responded with a smile, “Yes, so you know.”
“Mm, but unfortunately, I’m still sitting here just fine,” Hendrix said, showing no concern. He met her gaze with a cold stare. “And based on the current situation, I doubt I’m the one who’s going to be ending things first.”
Noelle couldn’t reply.
Although Hendrix had treated her with this kind of attitude before, she still remembered clearly the taste of the drinks he forced upon her that night in Vinton City. At this moment, all she could see in his eyes was an endless
coldness.
Noelle’s voice grew hoarser. “If that’s the case, Mr. Freeman, what are you doing here? To emphasize your position as the victor?”
“You still have a chance to back out,” Hendrix said.
Noelle immediately understood the real reason he was there.
“What do you mean?”
“First, you and Dylan’s wedding has to be canceled.”
“Oh, and what else?” Noelle wasn’t surprised by this demand. Her tone remained flat.
“Then, come back to my side.”
Hendrix looked at her with certainty in his eyes. “I’ll help you handle Elm Group’s issues, but you should realize by now that you’re not cut out for this cutthroat business world. Didn’t you used to love painting? You can go back to doing what you enjoy and leave the rest to me.”
Noelle chuckled. “You mean you want me to become a bird your cage?”
“I’m not saying that. Even if it’s just painting, you can still make friends. You don’t need to deal with those people or appease them anymore. You never liked that kind of thing, did you?”
“Who says I don’t like it?”
“Because you’re not happy.”
“No,” Noelle retorted, her teeth clenched tighter, and her eyes burned intensely. “Do you think that by putting conditions on me, I’ll be happy now?”
Before coming here, Hendrix had already prepared himself mentally. He even thought that if Noelle decided to stab him with something, he wouldn’t be surprised.
Facing her accusation, he answered quickly, “I didn’t want to do this, but Noelle, I had no choice.”
“No choice?” Noelle scoffed. “Isn’t all of this part of your plan?”

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
