As soon as Noelle finished speaking, Hendrix let go of her arm.
He could assume that she was just being sulky the first time she suggested divorce, but this was the second time.
It didn’t seem like a joke anymore.
“Noelle, what are you talking about?” Sandra could barely hold in her smile, but she still did her best to act surprised. “How can you talk about divorce so easily? You and Hendrix…”
Noelle ignored her. She just stared at Ophelia.
Ophelia came back to her senses quickly. “Are you threatening me, Noelle?” She had reacted the exact same way Hendrix had a few days ago.
Noelle just laughed and shook her head. “No, I’m not. I’m serious.”
Then, she turned to Hendrix. “We don’t love each other. There’s nothing tying us together. There’s no point in tormenting ourselves with this marriage, so we should just part ways.”
Before Ophelia could say anything, Beatrice spoke up, “No! do not agree with this!”
She had intended for Noelle to show some goodwill to Ophelia. She hadn’t expected to hear all that when she came. into the room.
She walked over quickly. “Marriage is an important thing. You can’t just decide on these things on a whim. Your marriage was arranged 20 years ago. You can’t…”
“Are you sure?” Hendrix interrupted. His question wasn’t directed toward Beatrice.
“Ye., I’m sure,” Noelle said.
“Alright. Don’t regret this.”
“When are we going to the courthouse?”
Both of them were calm.
Beatrice’s expression was dark. “Hendrix Freeman!”
“Mom.” Before Hendrix could say anything, Noelle looked over at Beatrice. “Thank you for your care and kindness for the past two years. Actually… I’ve been thinking about divorce for some time now
“You told me once before that love and marriage are something to work on long–term, but I think I’ve given it my
all now.
“Maybe we just aren’t meant to be.
“I’m sorry for disappointing you, but as Hendrix’s mother, you would want him to be happy, don’t you? You should be happy for him now.”
Beatrice didn’t know how to answer that.
Noelle backed away. “I’ll take my leave now. Goodbye.”
With that, she turned and left. She really did seem like she had been contemplating divorce for some time. Because of that, she was able to sever her ties so easily today.
Beatrice pursed her lips.

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
