Chapter 302
Noelle couldn’t quite remember how she left the hospital.
It was still summer in Coppersville, and the sun was shining brightly. Yet, as its rays fell on her, she felt no warmth only the chill of cold sweat trickling down her back, making her teeth chatter uncontrollably.
The taxi soon pulled up to Nivis Villa.
Staring at the familiar yet estranged place before her, Noelle suddenly recalled Craig’s words from earlier this was their only chance.
Craig might have been thinking about using that evidence to threaten Hendrix, forcing him into some sort of compromise. But Noelle’s thoughts went far beyond that. She understood Hendrix too well.
Even if he were pressured into a temporary concession, he would undoubtedly find a way to recover whatever losses he’d suffered. With someone like him, there was no room for mercy.
It was like facing a predator on the savannah. Superficial wounds would only provoke his fury. To truly win, she needed to find the right moment and strike a fatal blow.
Noelle stepped out of the car.
No matter what, she had lived here for two years. She knew the layout of Nivis Villa better than anyone else. Before long, she stood in front of Hendrix’s study door.
He had told her that morning he’d be very busy, which meant he wouldn’t be back anytime soon. While it wasn’t certain that the files she needed would be here, for Noelle, this was an opportunity she couldn’t afford to miss.
But she immediately became stumped at the sight of the passcode lock. She tried Hendrix’s birthday, then his phone passcode, and even shamelessly entered her own birthday. Each time, the lock beeped with an error.
Noelle racked her brain, and after a moment, she decided to try another set of numbers–one she thought was highly unlikely.
The door opened.
When the confirmation chime rang out, Noelle froze for a moment.
It was their wedding anniversary.
Hendrix, who had never celebrated it and had been reluctant even on their wedding day, had actually used that date as his passcode. The thought was almost… laughable.
But Noelle didn’t have the time or energy to dwell on it. Once inside the study, she immediately began searching the desk. She knew it was unlikely Hendrix would leave such critical documents lying around, but she wasn’t about to overlook any possibility.
Thinking back, Hendrix’s connection with Mondivera wast particularly deep. She only knew about it because during one of their wild encounters in the study, she had accidentally glimpsed him tracking their stock trends.
But then, he had casually mentioned it to her. As for what role he played in that fund or the daily fluctuations in capital, Noelle knew absolutely nothing.
After combing through the massive desk, she found nothing. Finally, her gaze fell on his computer. Unsurprisingly, it was password protected as well.
She tried several combinations, and in the end, the computer locked her out, displaying a message that verification via email was required to reset the password.

The email, of course, would go straight to Hendrix. But Noelle didn’t panic. Instead, she calmly sat down in his chair and waited for his call.

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
