Noelle fell into a noticeable silence when she heard Hendri’s words. It was only after a long; moment that she finally looked at him. 

But Hendrix didn’t meet her gaze. Instead, he casually picked up his phone and began Instructing someone to deliver dinner. 

“What do you want to eat?” he asked, turning back to her with a bright smile. 

But Noelle simply sat there, expressionless, staring at him in silence. 

Hendrix narrowed his eyes slightly. 

Noelle suddenly smiled. “Anything’s fine, though something light would be good.” 

With that, she stood up and started walking away. 

Watching her retreating figure, Hendrix spoke again, “If there’s something you’re looking for, you can just ask me for it.” 

As expected, Noelle had already guessed it from what he said earlier about the surveillance cameras. But when he asked so directly, she couldn’t help but stop in her tracks, and she was clenching her hands so hard that even her knuckles began to ache. 

Then, slowly turning around, she replied, I’m looking for vidence of your collusion with Julio.” 

Hendrix smiled again. “Oh? And what do you plan to do with that?” 

“What do you think?” 

Hendrix didn’t respond. Even the insincere smile he had on his face gradually faded. He lowered his gaze, and Noelle could see the veins bulging on the back of his hand. 

Then, his fist suddenly came up to his lips, and he coughed a few times. 

Noelle had been waiting for him to say something, but the silence stretched on. After a while, she found herself utterly bored and uninterested. Thus, she turned and headed upstairs without another word. 

By the time Noelle came out of the bathroom, the dinner Hendrix had ordered had already been delivered. She didn’t have much of an appetite, but she knew she needed to keep herself steady. So without waiting for Hendrix to say anything, she sat down and began cathip. 

It was clear Hendrix had already eaten, yet he still chose to sit across from her. Noelle couldn’t be bothered to pay him any attention, focusing instead on the food in front of her. 

Just then, Hendrix suddenly said, “Two months.” 

Noelle’s hand paused, but she didn’t look up.. 

Hendrix continued, “Give us another chance. For two months, let’s try to get along. If, after that, you still hate me this much, I’ll let you go and hand over the evidence you want. What do you say?” 

He sounded sincere, but Noelle couldn’t help but recall the times when he had seemed even more sincere. 

He had once told her he loved her and that all he wanted was a place by her side–that it didn’t matter if their relationship couldn’t be public and if she humiliated him. But what had the man who said those things done behind her back?
