Hendrix’s lips curled up a little. “In the company, you should address me as Mr. Freeman.”
“Oh, alright.” Nathan nodded immediately.
Just then, Craig’s call came through.
Hendrix waved to dismiss Nathan before picking up the call “Hello?”
“Hendrix.” Craig’s voice was warm and friendly. “Have you been busy lately?”
Hendrix sneered silently. It was only natural for Craig to be friendly with him.
Not long ago, Hendrix had personally covered the financial hole left by Elm Group. Without that, the company wouldn’t have been able to file for proper bankruptcy procedures.
Hendrix didn’t care about the money. To him, it was just numbers on a screen, and in return, he had secured his marriage with Noelle. He might as well consider it a wedding gift.
Now, Elm Group was entirely under Amity Group’s control, but Craig clearly didn’t care. Lately, he seemed busy with a new energy project.
Although new energy was a trending industry, technical challenges were abundant. Only a handful of companies had mastered the technology. Everyone else was just picking up the scraps. And at this stage, if Craig wanted in, he wouldn’t even get any leftovers.
Hendrix was aware of his moves but didn’t say much. He simply responded, “Not too bad. What do you need?”

“Are you at the office? I can come over-”
I don’t have time to meet right now,” Hendrix interrupted “I’m heading to a construction site soon. Just send it over, and I’ll review it on the way.”
“Oh, alright. Sorry to trouble you.”
“Don’t mention it.”
With that, Hendrix hung up.
Shortly after, Craig sent over the document.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
