Noelle frowned as she gently retracted her hand. She didn’t leave right away. After some hesitation, she sat by his side.
Hendrix had braced himself for her rejection after pushing her limits quite substantially earlier, so he was surprised that Noelle chose to stay.
She was sitting by his side at that moment. Her hand was less than a foot away from his. They were still the only ones in the ward, so her scent was extremely palpable before him.
Even though Hendrix initially didn’t want to sleep, he felt a little drowsy after having had something to eat. He closed his eyes and fell asleep quickly.
He had a dream–a beautiful one.
He dreamed that Noelle had given birth to an adorable daughter. The tiny bundle looked so fragile in his arms yet felt like a fortified bond tightly connecting him and Noelle

Hendrix had even dreamed of what that little girl would look like as she grew–she resembled Noelle a lot, but Hendrix vowed to protect her fiercely from all the worries of life as long as she lived, ensuring nothing would ever disrupt her life.

Hendrix smiled. He was about to step forward when he saw another man appearing by their side.

Hendrix’s face fell. He wanted to rush forward instantly, but something seemed to be holding him back in his dream. He tried to take a step, but something yanked him back right after. Alas, he couldn’t even move an inch.
He squinted ahead, desperately trying to make out who that man was. He wanted to know who had stolen his happy ending

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
