What kind of relationship could there be between me and Dr. Garnet? None, of course,” Hendrix replied without a second thought.
But after a moment, something seemed to cross his mind. He then smiled and said, “Penny, are you jealous?” Noelle didn’t answer. Instead, she simply pulled her hand back.
Hendrix didn’t mind. In fact, his smile deepened. “So, it’s true you’re jealous, huh?”
“I’m not,” Noelle replied, but it lacked conviction.
Hendrix said nothing more. He just smiled at her. His gaze was piercing, as though wanting to strip away Noelle’s pretense.
She hadn’t planned on paying him any attention, but her cheeks started to flush a little under his gaze. Finally, she turned and glared at him. “Why are you staring at me like that?”
“No reason. I just think it’s pretty interesting,” Hendrix replied with a grin.
His explanation made Noelle grit her teeth even more. But just before she could truly get angry, Hendrix reached out and pulled her into his arms.
“You’re overthinking. I mean, what could possibly exist between me and Dr. Garnet? If you hadn’t said her full name, I wouldn’t even remember who she is. A woman like her isn’t even worthy of carrying your shoes.”
There existed a law in this world. There had always been a certain someone around oneself, but one never noticed them. Until one day, one did. After that, they seemed to appear everywhere in one’s life.
That was exactly how it was for Noelle and Olivia.
Noelle had never noticed her before, not even during her prenatal checkups at the hospital. Yet today, they ran into each other again.
Before Noelle could say anything, Olivia quickly averted her gaze and hurried out of the hospital with her head lowered and her tote bag slung over her shoulder.
“Mrs. Freeman?” a voice called out, snapping Noelle out of her thoughts.
She turned to the person in front of her.
“What were you staring at that got you in such a trance?” the person asked with a smile.
“Just now, that woman…”
“Oh, you mean Olivia? I heard she resigned,” the person quickly replied. “Apparently, she was forced to study medicine by her parents. She interned for a while but couldn’t take it, so she quit.”
“Oh, is that so?”
“Yes. Do you know her? Would you like me to call her back?
“No, it’s okay,” Noelle answered quickly. “I was just curious. That’s all.”
The other person nodded and didn’t press further. After all, in their eyes, Noelle and Olivia were from two completely different worlds. So, it didn’t seem possible for them to have crossed paths.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
