Noelle had forgotten how she had responded to Beatrice at that moment. After hanging up the call, she sat alone in her room, looking out the window in a daze. 

To avoid being surrounded by the media, she hadn’t left the house in days. 

Even the household staff who came to clean had obviously seen the news, as their gazes toward Noelle were cautious and tinged with pity. So, rather than encountering them, she preferred staying alone in her room. 

Just as she turned on her tablet, trying to distract herself with work, the doorbell rang. 

She immediately frowned. 

Before long, a household staff came in and informed her, “Mrs. Freeman, it’s someone claiming to be Mr. Freeman’s younger brother. Would you like to see him?” 

Noelle pressed her lips together. 

The household staff didn’t dare to assume anything from her expression, so she simply stood there, waiting. 

Finally, Noelle said, “Let him in.” 

As she did, she got up and walked out of her room. 

The household staff quickly invited Nathan inside. 

He seemed to be doing quite well. His suit was crisp and immaculate, his hair nearly styled. He was exuding the confidence of a man riding the ride of success. 

When they made eye contact, he immediately smiled and greeted her, “Hello, Noelle.” 

Noelle didn’t respond. She simply sat down across from him. 

“You seem to have lost quite a bit of weight. Is it because you’re worried about Hendrix?” asked Nathan. 

Noelle had no patience for small talk and cut straight to the point. “Say what you came to say.” 

Nathan chuckled. “I think you already know why I’m here.” 

Noelle looked at him and said, “So, this was your plan all along. You used Olivia’s life as a pawn to utterly destroy Hendrix’s reputation?” 

“Something like that,” Nathan admitted without hesitation “But the real person in control of this situation isn’t actually me. It was Hendrix. 

“You do know where I’m going with this, right? After all, if he weren’t willing, I couldn’t have tied him forced him to get involved with Olivia, could I?

“It was he who arranged Olivia’s apartment on his own. That night, he went to her apartment out of his own free 

will. All of this is on the surveillance footage, and it’s the very evidence the police are holding against him, isn’t it?

Noelle fell silent. 

“But of course, Hendrix’s reason for getting close to Olivia was to use her to bring me down,” Nathan continued with a smirk. “In his eyes, I’m just a fool he can easily manipulate. That’s why he let his guard down, thinking that by doing Olivia a small favor, he could get the evidence he needed against me.” 

“You can rest assured he never actually betrayed you. At least, from the intelligence I’ve gathered, he never did.
