Noelle placed the divorce agreement in front of Hendrix. 

The moment Hendrix saw the title, he let out a laugh. “So, you had this prepared all along.”

Hendrix’s smile deepened. Then, without a single moment of hesitation, he picked up the pen and smoothly signed his name. 

Hendrix had written his name countless times. Ever since he had first learned how to read and write, Beatrice had taught him to perfect his name. So, he didn’t need to think. The moment the pen touched the paper, his hand moved instinctively. 

He then tossed the agreement back to Noelle. “There. Are you satisfied now?” 

Noelle caught it swiftly. After confirming Hendrix’s signature, she turned to look at him. “Thank you.” 

Thank you? For what? For granting her freedom? To her, was this something worth celebrating and being grateful for? 

Hendrix had wanted to mock her, but when the words reached his lips, he swallowed them back. 

Not just because his mind suddenly felt empty, but because if he said anything more, it would feel like he was only mocking himself. 

In the end, all he said was, “You’ll regret this.” 

Noelle looked at him silently. 

Hendrix suddenly laughed and said, “You shouldn’t think you’re special. It’s not like I must have you and no one else. 

“I’ll find someone else and live happily ever after with her. Everything I gave you–and everything I never gave you–I’ll give it to her. And I’ll never let you walk all over me like this again!” 

He should have stayed silent. As a master negotiator, Hendrix knew better than anyone that the more one said, the more mistakes they would make, especially in a situation like this. 

The more he talked, the more ridiculous he must have looked in Noelle’s eyes. 

Yet, he couldn’t stop himself. He stubbornly refused to admit defeat, even though he knew reason wasn’t on his side. There was no way he was going to bow his head or acknowledge his failure. 

But to Noelle, his words carried no impact at all. After lifting her head, she looked at him for a moment before saying, “That’s great. I wish you happiness.” 

She wished him happiness? Him? As if that was what he wanted from her! 

Hendrix’s expression turned even grimmer. For a brief moment, he had the urge to grab her by the collar and demand answers. But in the end, he held himself back. 

Then, he merely let out a cold laugh, turned around, and walked away.

But after one look at his face, Dan decided to keep quiet and wordlessly stepped forward.
