After speaking, the caller hung up.
Noelle gripped her phone tightly, her knuckles turning while.
Rosie sat quietly beside her, still waiting for Noelle to notice her.

“I-“Noelle took a deep breath before finding her voice. “Rosie, we can’t leave for now.”
“Why? Won’t we go home anymore?” Rosie’s face fell, clearly upset. “But Mommy, you promised me we’d go home today. I want to go back and play with Gabby.”
“I’m sorry, Rosie. This is all Mommy’s fault.” Noelle stroked Rosie’s hair. “Something came up, so we need to stay here for a few more days, okay? I promise that as soon as it’s resolved, we’ll go home right away.”
Rosie quieted down.
Noelle could see her disappointment, but she didn’t have the luxury to comfort her further.
Her phone rang again, and this time, it was from the film company, which also happened to be Ebony’s agency.
Someone had leaked photos of Noelle and Ebony on set, claiming that they were always like this–flirting under the guise of discussing the script.
Had Noelle been single, Ebony’s fans might not have been so upset. But after learning she was a single mother, they instantly flooded Ebony’s agency and studio. The square was filled with nothing but insults toward Noelle.
At this point, whether she had plagiarized or not no longer mattered. Even if she were innocent, she was still in the wrong in their eyes.
Ebony had gone into hiding, but the production costs continued to pile up. If the show was canceled and couldn’t be completed, the investors would undoubtedly hold Noelle accountable.
And when that happened, she would have to pay an astronomical sum of compensation.
Noelle was stuck in video meetings all day, but there wasn’t much substance to the meeting, as it was nothing but
an endless stream of blame.
She was told she shouldn’t have been so careless and shouldn’t have left anyone with this kind of leverage.
Now, not only were Ebony’s fans riled up, but even his rivals had seized the opportunity to stir things up.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
