Chapter 47
The dining table was left with just the two of them–mother and son.
“When are you moving back in?” Beatrice asked calmly, taking a sip of her soup.
Hendrix furrowed his brows.
“I asked you to move out before because it was inconvenient for you to live here with Noelle. Now that you’re divorced, you might as well move back,” Beatrice continued.
“No need,” Hendrix replied. “It’s more convenient where fam now.”
“What’s convenient about it? Bringing a new girlfriend back?” Beatrice’s words sounded calm, but to Hendrix’s ears, they were laced with subtle mockery.
He set his cutlery down and looked at her with a neutral expression.
However, Beatrice seemed unaffected and continued, “I’m serious. If you think your father’s matchmaking was a mistake, then go ahead and make your own choices. I won’tstop you.”
Beatrice paused, then added, “There’s only one thing–Sandra. I will never allow her in this house.”
“Why?” Hendrix asked.
Beatrice’s face darkened. “Are you really thinking of marrying her?”
“I’m just curious–why do you hate Sandra so much?”
Beatrice gave a cold laugh. “Do I need a reason to hate someone?”
Hendrix was at a loss for a reply.
Beatrice picked up where she left off. “As long as it’s not Sandra, I won’t oppose you being with anyone.”
“I thought you could only see…” Hendrix hesitated for a moment before finishing the sentence, “the one 111! father chose for me.”
It seemed he didn’t even want to mention Noelle’s name.
“Noelle?” Beatrice continued to smile. “That’s right. I do like her, but so what? You’re divorced now, and she’s already moved on, going out on blind dates with other people. Am I supposed to hold onto her and not let go?”
Hendrix narrowed his eyes. “Blind dates?”
“Yes. I ran into her today at the concert hall. She was with am.”
“Oh?” Hendrix chuckled. “The cripple from the Hawthorne family?”
“Yes.”
“The Swansons really are desperate, aren’t they?”
Beatrice laughed, too. “Hendrix, if I were you, I’d take a hand look at why Noelle would rather choose a cripple over staying married to you.”

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
