The apartment Seline had arranged for Noelle was indeed close to the hospital, but the building was old. As Noelle waited for the elevator, she could hear the creaking sounds it made.
She had wiped the blood from her leg, but without the stain to mask it, the long gash looked like a grotesque, featureless face with a red, gaping mouth.
Finally, the elevator reached the fifth floor. Once inside her apartment, Noelle quickly tended to her wound.
To avoid Rosie finding out, she changed into a long skirt to cover the injury. But her limping gait was impossible to hide, especially as she searched for the little lion plushie Rosie wanted. Even though she had looked through the apartment several times, she still couldn't find it.
By the third time she opened the same box without success, Noelle's frustration began to boil over. She opened a shopping app, intending to buy a new one for Rosie, only to find that it was no longer available.
Staring at her phone screen, Noelle suddenly felt a wave of helplessness.
Just then, a voice came from behind her, "So, this is where you live now?"
Noelle hadn't expected Hendrix to follow her. After all, Seline had said he didn't even care about whether Rosie lived or died, so what could he possibly want from Noelle now?
But when she turned and saw the mockery in his eyes, she understood that he was here to ridicule her.
Hendrix frowned slightly as he took in the cluttered room. After all, in his memory, no matter where Noelle lived, she always kept her space immaculate. Her tables and couches were always spotless.
But now, all he saw were unpacked boxes piled up around the room. Some were opened, with their contents scattered around, making the place look even messier.

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
