It took Noelle a moment to fully grasp the meaning behind Hendrix's words. Her expression changed instantly. "Hendrix, what are you trying to say?"
"Exactly what I said," Hendrix replied with a cold chuckle. "I've seen the name you gave Rosie. I don't mind that she has your last name, but she's still my kid! Letting her call another man 'Daddy' is something I will never allow.
"Of course, you're still young, so if you're lonely and want to remarry, I won't stop you. But you absolutely cannot take Rosie with you. Do you understand?"
After Hendrix finished speaking, Noelle fell silent. She simply stood there with her lips pressed tightly together as she stared at him.
Hendrix knew her well, and his gaze quickly dropped. Sure enough, the next moment, he saw her clenched fists, her shoulders trembling slightly from the effort.
He expected her to erupt in anger. In fact, he wouldn't even be surprised if she told him to leave. But instead, she suddenly unclenched her fists.
Then, she even smiled at him. "You've misunderstood."
Hendrix remained silent.
"Rosie was just talking nonsense. How can you take a child's words seriously? I did meet Dylan today, but nothing has happened between us in the past two years, nor will it happen now and definitely not in the future.
"As for the rest, do you really think I have the energy to think about those things right now? So, don't worry. What you're concerned about won't happen."
This wasn't right. Noelle's reaction was completely different from what Hendrix had expected. She should have been angry. Even if she didn't start a full-blown argument, she should have at least expressed her frustration.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
