Chapter 53
At the entrance of the restaurant, it was Levi’s reminder that finally drew Hendrix’s attention to the man speaking with Craig.
Looking visibly annoyed, Craig stepped around the man and walked away
However, the persistent man wasn’t ready to let him go and followed closely behind. Seeing that Craig was about to get into his car, he raised his voice. “Mr. Swanson, if you don’t agree, I’ll have no choice but to go back to Mr. Freeman and tell him everything about Luna.”
Hendrix had been ready to leave. After all, neither Noelle nor the Swanson family had anything to do with him
anymore.
But upon hearing William’s words, he suddenly froze mid–step.
“Mr. Freeman?” Dan called out, but Hendrix ignored him, turning his head to the side to see that the previously indifferent Craig had already let William into his car.
Hendrix narrowed his eyes slightly.
“Mr. Freeman, the ‘Luna‘ that he mentioned…” Dan spoke with confusion. But before he could ask, Hendrix had already climbed into his car.
Dan exchanged confused looks with Levi before following spit
Hendrix, who had drunk a few glasses of wine earlier, closed his eyes as soon as he got inside the vehicle. Meanwhile, Dan sat in the passenger seat, not even daring to look back at him.
A short while into the drive, Hendrix suddenly said, “Look into it.”
Taken aback, Dan asked reflexively, “Look into what?”
Hendrix turned to look out the window. “Noelle’s adoptive father.”
Noelle was sick. After spending a sleepless night, she arrived in this unfamiliar city, only to collapse into bed, unable to get up again.
If the hotel staff hadn’t noticed that she hadn’t left her room all day, and if the cleaning crew hadn’t repeatedly knocked on her door, she might’ve remained unconscious in bed for who knew how long
“Do you have any friends or family here?” a hotel employee asked her.
“No”
“Then… should we contact your colleague for you?”
“I’m fine,” Noelle replied as she swallowed a fever pill. “It just a cold and fever.”
“But…” The staff hesitated.
Noelle knew what she was thinking and gave her a smile. “Don’t worry. I won’t die in your hotel. I’ll… leave
tomorrow.”
“It’s not that. I’m just worried about you,” the young woman said quickly while setting a bowl of soup on the bedside table. “Try to eat something. Just call the front desk if you need anything.”
Noelle glanced at the bowl of soup and gently thanked her

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
