"Hold the door!" a voice called out from outside the elevator.
If it had been anyone else, Noelle would have pressed the button to keep the doors open. But this time, she lowered her gaze and began frantically pressing the close button instead.
Alas, she was still too slow. Just as the doors were about to shut, a hand shot out and blocked them, causing them to slide open again.
Noelle pressed her lips into a tight line.
Despite being the one who forced the doors open, Hendrix still thanked her as he stepped inside.
Noelle didn't respond. Instead, she silently pulled Rosie to the side, as if trying to put as much distance between them and him as possible.
Hendrix noticed but said nothing, simply staring at the changing numbers on the elevator panel. Soon, they reached their floor, and Noelle stepped out with Rosie first.
Noelle then reached for her keys to unlock the door, but she quickly realized her keys were missing.
"Mommy, I need to go potty," Rosie said.
"Okay, sweetheart," Noelle replied, then began rummaging through her bag more urgently. But no matter how much she searched, the keys were still nowhere to be found.
"Mommy, I really need to go!" Rosie's voice grew more desperate, as if she were on the verge of tears.
Noelle was about to respond when a voice came from behind, "She can use the bathroom in my place."
Hearing this, Noelle froze, while Rosie began stomping her feet in urgency.
Without giving them time to think, Hendrix scooped Rosie up and headed toward his apartment.
Noelle hurried after him. "What are you doing? Put her down!"
Hendrix shot her a glance and asked, "Do you want her to pee herself?"
Noelle went completely silent.

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
