Noelle quickly returned to her room. She locked the door first, then walked to the desk and took out the pen and paper she had prepared earlier.
There were so many things she wanted to write, many things she wanted to tell Rosie. She had even considered writing a series of letters, one for Rosie to read each year.
But her mind went blank as soon as the pen touched the paper. And then she realized—maybe she didn't need to tell her anything. After all, her choice was the most direct statement.
Rosie didn't need a weak mother. Her leaving would be the greatest act of irresponsibility toward Rosie. So, Noelle no longer had the right to say anything.
With that thought in mind, Noelle set the pen down. Then, she opened another drawer. Inside was a shard of glass she had secretly stashed away a few days ago.
A life for a life—everyone knew that.
Seline had died because of Rosie. But Rosie was still so young, and Noelle couldn't bear to see her suffer any harm. So, if the Swift family wanted a life, she would give them her own. That way, they could no longer say Rosie had taken Seline's life. After all, Noelle would have repaid the debt.
Thinking this, Noelle picked up the glass shard and looked at the mirror across from her. The large floor mirror clearly reflected her every moment. She easily found her carotid artery. All she had to do was cut there.
She knew it wouldn't be a pleasant sight. And she felt guilty, too. After all, this was Hendrix's new house. Yet, she was going to die here in such a gruesome way.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
