Hendrix’s blunt question left Sandra hesitant.
She lowered her head and nervously fidgeted with the hem of her dress for a moment before softly replying, “I’m not entirely sure. But he and Noelle were very close back when we were in school.”

Sandra was worried he might misunderstand and quickly explained, “But Maxwell went abroad to study not long after. I’m sure there’s nothing between them. I feel like I shouldn’t be engaged with him even if that’s the case.
“Rix, do you think I’m being selfish? Am I a terrible person? My family needs me now more than ever, but I..”
Her eyes reddened as she spoke.
Hendrix remained silent. He merely lowered his gaze and was lost in thought.
Sandra bit her lips and continued, “Rix, what did you talk to my dad about last time? I… I really don’t want to get married now. Can you help me?”

She extended her hand and was about to tug at his sleeves as she spoke before her phone suddenly rang startled at the sound of the ringtone and immediately retracted her hand before hastily answering the call.
“What did you say?” Her voice suddenly rose as she snapped her gaze toward Hendrix. “I… I’ll head over right now.
She glanced at him after hanging up the call. “I’m sorry, Rix. 1… I have to go.”
“What’s going on?” Hendrix finally asked calmly.

Sandra gritted her teeth as if wrestling with an internal struggle before finally saying, “Ruth told me that she saw Maxwell entering a hotel with a woman. I need to check it out.”
“What? Who was he with?” he continued asking.
His voice sounded casual, yet it was laced with an imperceptible tension.
“I…” Sandra lowered her gaze and gritted her teeth as if struggling to find the words.
However, she spoke softly after a moment of hesitation, “Ruth said… it looked like my sister
“Sandy, over here!” Ruth grabbed Sandra’s arm as soon as she entered the hotel.
“I knew that woman couldn’t be trusted! She and Maxwell must have been involved long ago! They were already sneaking around even when she was still married to Hendrix! How could there be someone as shameless as her in this world?
“You’ll see. I’m going to expose her true nature today!”
Ruth gritted her teeth and yanked Sandra forward with determination.
The elevator stopped on the 11th floor.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
