Hendrix arrived in the hospital in no time at all. But the moment he spotted Dylan at the emergency room doors, his expression darkened.
Marla was sitting there as well, gripping Dylan's hand as if she depended on him completely. As upset as he was, Hendrix pushed his emotions down and walked over upon seeing that.
"Hello, Mr. Freeman," Dylan greeted him quickly.
Hendrix ignored him and asked Marla, "How's Mr. Swift doing?"
"The doctors are still trying to save him," Marla replied weakly. "It's all my fault for being so careless. He hasn't been looking well these past few days, and this morning he told me his chest was hurting.
"I thought we could just bring it up with the doctor during this physical at the end of the month, but I never expected that he would…"
Marla's voice trailed off.
"Don't worry, Mrs. Swift. I'm sure Mr. Swift will be fine," Dylan said before Hendrix could respond.
Marla nodded repeatedly, then looked up at Dylan. "Thank you so much. If you hadn't come to visit us today, I wouldn't have known what to do."
"It's the least I can do. Seline and I were good friends, so it's only right that I take care of you in her place," Dylan said in a gentlemanly manner, his voice deep.
Hendrix stood nearby watching and couldn't help but frown slightly.
Just then, the door to the emergency room opened. Everyone immediately stepped forward.
"Don't worry. The patient is out of danger," the doctor said.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
