Rosie even sounded a little gleeful, to be honest. Wasn't it said that daughters were supposed to be their parents' little angels? So, what did that make her?
Hendrix remained standing where he was, his brows slowly furrowing.
Noelle stayed locked in her room until dinnertime. She didn't say much, remaining silent throughout the meal. In fact, she didn't even spare him a glance.
After dinner, Hendrix finally found a chance to ask her, "Will you come back with me later?"
"No," Noelle replied without even needing to think about it.
Hendrix couldn't help but frown. He reached out to take her hand, but Noelle brushed him off before he could.
Just as he was about to grab Noelle's shoulder, Beatrice said, "Hendrix, why don't you go back first?"
Hendrix turned around and said in a low voice, "Mom."
But Beatrice acted as if she hadn't heard him. Instead, she said to Noelle, "Since tomorrow's the weekend and Rosie doesn't have school, why don't the two of you stay here for a couple of days?"
She then turned to Hendrix. "Aren't you busy with work? You should head back now."
And just like that, Hendrix was chased away by Beatrice.
Rosie didn't seem too fond of him at the moment. But when Noelle was tucking her in that night, she suddenly asked, "Mommy, are you really mad at Daddy?"
The question caught Noelle off guard. Then, she smiled softly.
Rosie nodded knowingly. "I knew it. You're not really mad at him."
"Oh?"
"If you were, you would've taken me back to Stormridge."
Noelle was unable to come up with a suitable reply to that.

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
