Unlike the furious Hendrix, Dylan remained perfectly calm. There was even a hint of confusion in his eyes as he looked at the former.
Then, Dylan said, "Mr. Freeman, aren't you asking the wrong person? Noelle's your wife, so why are you asking me where she is? Isn't that a little inappropriate? Or do you have evidence to suggest that I took her?"
Hendrix fell silent. He simply stood there, staring at Dylan. His clenched fists slowly loosened.
Then, he let out a soft laugh. "Fine, Dylan. You've made your choice."
With that, he turned and walked away.
Dylan remained where he was, watching Hendrix leave before turning to the other employees with a smile. "If there's nothing else, you can all go back to work now."
At his words, the employees didn't dare to linger any longer. After exchanging a few glances with each other, they quickly dispersed.
As he walked, Hendrix was already making calls. Coppersville wasn't that big—he refused to believe that even if he had to turn the entire city upside down, he still wouldn't be able to find Noelle.
But the situation took an unexpected turn.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Freeman. We still haven't found any leads."
When this response came again, Hendrix's face was completely devoid of expression. He didn't say a word, just slowly set his phone down on the table.
Noelle had truly vanished into thin air. Aside from that fleeting glimpse of her arm in the surveillance footage, there was no trace of her. It was almost as if she had never existed in this world at all.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
