"Hendrix?" Beatrice's voice pulled him back to reality.
He turned his head and gazed up at her. A jolt went through Beatrice when she saw the look in his eyes.
"Yes?" Hendrix asked. His voice was calm, as if nothing had happened.
After a brief pause, Beatrice said, "You haven't had a proper rest in a long time, have you? Why don't you go home for a bit? I can stay with Rosie."
"No, I'm fine." Hendrix refused without hesitation. "Besides, I promised Rosie I'd stay with her."
"But—"
"You should head back," Hendrix cut her off. Then, he turned his attention back to Rosie, who was lying in bed.
Beatrice looked at his back. After hesitating for a moment, she finally said, "Is there still no news about Noelle?"
At her words, Hendrix seemed to tense for a moment. Then, he said, "It's fine. I'll find her. And even if I can't, there's someone who definitely knows where she is."
Noelle's disappearance wasn't a coincidence. Whoever knew the exact locations of all the surveillance cameras at the Swift family's estates had to be extremely familiar with the place.
There were no records of Noelle using any form of transportation, which could only mean one thing—she was taken straight into a car after leaving the Swift family's estate. And this whole thing had to have been premeditated by Dylan.
Even Hendrix's trip to deal with Erwin's situation had likely been part of Dylan's plan to distract him. As for Marshall and Marla, were they involved, too? Hendrix wasn't sure, but it didn't matter. He would find a way to make them talk.
Deep down, he knew it wasn't Noelle's voice. Still, he couldn't control or suppress the surge of hope that rose within him.
However, when he saw who it was, the expression on his face vanished. And in its place was an even colder, more piercing gaze.
"Where's Noelle? Where is that bitch now?" Ruth seemed completely oblivious to the icy look in his eyes. She rushed forward, shouting, "This was all her plan, wasn't it? She tricked me! I knew it! She was never really trying to help me! It was all a setup! Where's that bitch? Where is she?"
Ruth's emotions were running high. As she spoke, she grabbed Hendrix's arm.
"You two set me up, didn't you? Hendrix, what did I ever do to deserve this? That bitch is one thing, but you? A corporation as powerful as yours, and you still can't tolerate someone as insignificant as me?"

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
