Night fell quickly.
Hendrix had been restless since evening. With no Internet here, he couldn't even distract himself with work. He could only lie in bed, flipping through the photos on his phone while listening intently for any movement outside.
He didn't like having his photo taken, and neither did Noelle. So there were very, very few pictures of the two of them on his phone. During the time Noelle was missing, he had already memorized every single one of the photos.
After scrolling through them several times, he finally couldn't take it anymore and got out of bed. To prove he wasn't joking, Hendrix was really planning to climb over the wall to find Noelle.
But then, he quickly remembered something—his arm was still in a splint. So there was no way he would be able to climb that wall.
In the end, he could only stand outside the wall, staring at the door. Only after confirming that Noelle wasn't coming out did he turn and go back inside.
As dawn broke, he finally heard movement from the house across the way. It was Irene heading out to the fields with her hoe.
Hendrix didn't hesitate. He got out of bed immediately.
Irene wasn't particularly cautious, and since the village was mostly populated by elderly people, even thieves didn't bother coming here. Thus, Hendrix easily pushed the door open.
The door to Noelle's room, however, was locked. But her window was much lower, and it didn't take Hendrix much effort to climb through it.
He hadn't slept all night. But Noelle clearly didn't know that. Because at this moment, she was tucked under her blanket, sleeping soundly.
Hendrix had originally planned to wake her up. But when she saw her peaceful sleeping face, he lowered his hand back down until it rested gently on her cheek.
The coolness of his touch made Noelle shiver slightly, and her eyes immediately opened. When she realized there was someone standing by her bed, her eyes widened slightly.
Then, she opened her mouth to scream. But Hendrix quickly covered it. "It's me."

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
