Chapter 121
“Is the show starting off this intense already?” a fan whispered, eyes wide.
“I think Quiana isn’t here to audition, she’s here to cause trouble…” another fan murmured, shaking her head.
“Fight! Fight!” someone else cheered, egging them on.
“Quiana is way too overconfident!” a contestant said, crossing her arms.
Lucy had talent, a portfolio of works, and a famous name, backed by a major company. Quiana, on the other hand, came from the slums, with a trail of negative press.
Even if she was a true daughter of the Larson family, she was just a name without substance. Putting the two together, there was no comparison. Yet, no one expected Quiana to be so brazen!
Today was the gathering, followed by a performance grading session. Four mentors were supposed to be present, but only three had shown up. Alex Carter, Jocelyn Cooper, and Eric Gates are all renowned singers in the industry. The founder, Steven Smith, was also there.
In the backstage area, they watched the scene unfold on a screen, their expressions stunned.
“Quiana,” Alex frowned, scratching his head. “Where does she get her confidence?”
Nobody knows. The other girls in the venue, instead of trying to mediate, were all watching with excitement, their faces lit up by the drama.
Steven couldn’t sit still. “They’re not really going to fight, are they?” he asked, leaning forward in his seat.
Everyone had heard that Quiana had a volatile temper and wasn’t easy to provoke. Lucy didn’t seem like someone to mess with either.
Although the program would be edited later and this part might not make it into the final cut, having a fight on the first day of filming wouldn’t look good.
Jocelyn, however, held Steven back. “Let’s wait and see,” she said, her eyes fixed on the screen.
ク
Inside the venue, Lucy hadn’t expected Quiana to be so direct. Her face darkened, and her fists clenched. “Who do you think you are,” Lucy growled, her voice low and threatening.
“Lucy,” Sarah Miller called out from the second seat, standing up and stepping aside. “Why don’t you take my seat for now? It’s just a temporary spot anyway, and we’ll be re–evaluated soon.”
Quiana didn’t seem like she was going to give up, and Lucy looked determined not to back down. The tension between them was palpable, and the air crackled with sparks. If they really started fighting. Sarah was giving her a way out.
Lucy glanced at her, then gave a cold laugh. “Fine, I’ll let you warm the seat for me!” Lucy said, her eyes narrowing.
“Quiana!” Lucy, who had just taken the second seat, suddenly stood up her eyes blazing with anger.
Quiana leaned back; her posture relaxed. “I’ll definitely
she said lazily, a hint of a smile on her lips.
“Quiana, you…”
“Enough.” Yoselin Russell, sitting in the third/seat, stood up to mediate, her sweet and lively face trying to diffuse the tension. “We’re all here as friends
“Besides, we’ll be re–evaluated based on our skills later. For now, it’s just about finding a seat to get to know each other!” someone said.
