Chapter 123
Chapter 123
Ryan turned his head to look at Quiana, his golden hair gleaming, and said lightly, “About scandals, aren’t those things media and news outlets just write up willy–nilly? Ms. Cooper, you’re here as a mentor. I hope you won’t judge people with a biased eye.
Jocelyn frowned. T’m just stating the facts”
Ryan gave her a sidelong glance. “Have you ever tried to understand her? Do you even know her? You’re judging her based on a few rumors you heard online, and you call that stating the facts?”
Though they didn’t interact much with Ryan, they knew his personality–sunny and outgoing, with extremely high emotional intelligence. Now, however, he was dead serious, and his words were sharp as he defended Quiana.
Eric was a bit baffled. “Ryan, you wouldn’t be just judging by looks, would you?”
“Whether I am or not-
“Enough, let’s drop it, seeing the tension rising, Steven quickly intervened. “Let’s get the performances started.”
With a hundred people performing one by one, it would take several hours. It was already three in the afternoon, and they still needed to assign dorm rooms after the performances.
Since the recording would last half a month and be edited down to a one–hour episode, it was crucial to keep the process moving smoothly.
The next step was a performance ranking, with the order determined by a draw. They were given half an hour to prepare. With Quiana’s notorious reputation, everyone kept their distance from her. The backstage area wasn’t filmed.
Lucy crossed her arms, confident and determined. “Number one seat is mine.”
Quiana raised an eyebrow, a hint of mischief in her eyes, and casually waved the sign with the number 37. “Too bad you won’t get the chance.”
Lucy drew the number 47. She sneered, “I hope you can still say that once you’re on stage!” Quiana scoffed and turned to sit in a corner.
“What’s she up to now?” Viola rolled her eyes.
“Hey, do you think Quiana came this season just to ride on Winona’s popularity?” Luna leaned in and whispered.
In the previous season of Miracle Show, Winona emerged as a star. The relationship between Winona and Quiana was well- known throughout Janivielle.
Quíana had previously starred in a drama with Winona, but the production fell apart due to some issues. Now, it seemed like she was trying to gain attention through Winona’s success in the talent show.
“Who does she think she is?” Viola sneered. “Coming from the slums, she thinks she can transform into a swan?”
“Even as a pretty face, she brings bad luck,” Luna grumbled. “Do you think she can sing?”
“I heard she was still selling trinkets on the street a few days ago. Forget singing and dancing, she’s not even worthy to carry Lucy’s shoes. And she has the nerve to sit in the number one seat.” Viola sneered; her eyes full of disdain.
Megan Grant glanced at Quiana, frowning. “Don’t be too quick to judge. What if she’s hiding her true talents?”
