On stage, under the spotlight, Quiana’s feet, clad in Martin boots, lightly touched the ground, moving swiftly to the rhythm of the music. Her body spun and leaped, her graceful movements resembling a swallow perched in a nest.
Her movements were as flexible as a snake, her hair flying wildly, and her dance steps exuded confidence and defiance. The continuous, cool, and fierce actions left the audience dazzled.
Every step hit the beat perfectly, and all her moves flowed smoothly, like a fierce battle in the frozen wilderness, making the crowd’s blood boil with excitement.
It was a feast for the eyes, utterly amazing and breathtaking, eliciting waves of screams from the audience. In comparison, even Lucy’s powerful dance moves seemed lackluster.
When the music stopped, not only the trainees but also the mentors, including Steven, stood up, clapping enthusiastically. It seemed they had forgotten this was an audition, a head–to–head competition between two people.
The result was clear. Quiana successfully defended her position. Lucy, on the other hand, was’demoted to B–level. She lost. She lost to Quiana, a girl who had seemingly come out of nowhere.
The tough talk and challenges she had thrown earlier now felt like slaps in the face, stinging and painful. Lucy clenched her fists, her face pale with disbelief, unable to accept the outcome.
Alex asked Quiana, “Was that the slide dance you just did?”
Quiana furrowed her brow. “Just a casual fusion.”
‘A casual fusion, and she could dance so incredibly well?‘ Alex wondered.
“This PK, you must have used your full strength,” Jocelyn added. “Have you thought about what comes next?”
“Using full strength is a sign of respect for your opponent,” Quiana said lazily. “Lucy doesn’t deserve it.”
Her words implied she didn’t consider Lucy a real opponent and hadn’t even tried her hardest. Indeed, after her dance, Lucy. was panting heavily, drenched in sweat. Quiana, however, was calm and composed, as if she hadn’t moved at all.
In this match, Quiana won without breaking a sweat, just as she had said, just toying with Lucy. No one had anticipated this
outcome.
Quiana brushed the wrinkles from her clothes, strolled back to the number one spot with a leisurely gait, and sat down firmly.
The audience felt Quiana was incredibly arrogant, haughty, and dismissive. At that moment, the venue fell completely silent!
Backstage, Megan looked at the people around her and chuckled, “Does your face hurt?” Viola and Luna, among others, had expressions that were increasingly unpleasant.
“Lucy had her sights set on the center position from the moment she arrived, but Quiana ended up sitting there. She thought Quiana would be relegated to an F grade and had reluctantly accepted the out that Sarah offered.
“However, Quiana not only got Grade A but also reclaimed the center position. Frustrated and determined, Lucy vowed to defeat Quiana with her dance, but she was beaten again.” one of the audience said.
“Not only did she lose, but she was demoted from a sure Grade A to a Grade B,” another one said, shaking his head.
“This must be the biggest blow to Lucy’s career,” a girl added, her voice tinged with sympathy.
Chapter 127
A professionally trained dancer loses to someone from the slums. That’s a hard pill to swallow. Lucy sat on stage, her face pale and thunderanck. The other girls weren’t sure whether to feel sorry for her or not.
Sima Steven paused for a long moment before speaking softly. It seems like she’s already won the audition”
That was an incredibly high praise. Jocelyn opened her mouth to say something but couldn’t find the words. She believed now that Quiana had the courage to sit in the center position from the start.
