Chapter 193
Sola was surprised. “Huh? No one took an umbrella?” she asked.
Many people were ahead of them.
Quiana pointed with her index finger at a white storage box on the other side of the table, motioning for her to look.
Sofia stood on her tiptoes to peek inside, and when she saw what was inside, her expression shifted from surprise to confusion, then to indescribable shock, ending in utter speechlessness. The box was filled with raincoats.
“Is Mr. Smith just messing with us?” she said.
It wasn’t just Sofia who felt that way; all the other girls who had run hard to get there shared the same sentiment.
Steven arrived just in time, his face serious. “I said there were only ten umbrellas. I never said there weren’t any raincoats.” he said
Everyone was at a loss for words.
He had a point. It was hard to argue with that.
Quiana clicked her tongue.
Sofia turned to her and asked, “Quiana, want a raincoat?”
“No.” Quiana replied. She shook her head and continued running.
Sofia hesitated, recalling Quiana’s earlier comment that there would be no rain. But when she looked up, the sky did seem a bit gloomier than before. Will it really not rain?‘ she wondered.
After a moment of indecision, she grabbed two raincoats just in case.
“Is one not enough to cover you?” Jessica, who had finally caught up, scoffed upon seeing her with two raincoats.
asn’t fat and she couldn’t be bothered with the girls who treated sarcasm as second nature. She hummed dismissively. “Can I grab one for someone else?” Then, she ran off with the raincoats.
Sarah and Yoselin, carrying their raincoats, ran together.
Yoselin whispered, “Do you think Quiana or Lucy will come in first?”
“Probably Lucy. She’s likely one mile ahead of us by now,” Karen replied,
Sarah said, “It won’t be any of us, that’s for sure.”
Some of the girls with Grade F, aiming for privileges, were running like their lives depended on it.
But Sarah and the rest wouldn’t get demoted even if they didn’t make captain. They would still be better than others, so they thought treating the running seriously was foolish.
I think Lucy sees Quiana as her rival,” one said.
“Let her; it’s none of our business, another replied.
“Save your breath and runt someone said.
Wendy ran past, overhearing the conversation. She glanced at them but didn’t say anything, simply quickening her pace.

Ryan commented. “Ten minutes running, an hour resting.
Steven chuckled and teased. “Easy to say when you’re riding a bike.”
Ryan shot him a look and replied, “You’re not?”
“I’m not arguing.” Steven said. With only one mile left, he looked at the scattered trainees on the road and asked, “Want to bet on who will come in first?”
“Quiana,” Ryan said without hesitation.
“I’m going with Lucy, Steven replied since Lucy had been leading so far.
Ryan didn’t argue, only saying, “If you lose, release three new songs before New Year’s”
Are you my fan or what?” Steven said, laughing.
Ryan raised an eyebrow and replied, Tm pushing you on behalf of your fans”
“All right, then. If you lose, you owe five songs before New Year’s,” Steven countered.
