Chapter 70
Daniel rolled his eyes. “Just because you can’t do it doesn’t mean Ms. Levine can’t.”
The crowd kept staring at Quiana, the more they looked, the more it seemed like something out of a fantasy.
“I don’t buy it,” someone who disliked Quiana snapped. “This has to be a fake certificate.”
“Right. Definitely fake,” Chad regained his composure, sneering at Daniel. “You’re the top forensic expert at the Justice Bureau, and now you’re here with a kid, trying to trick us with a fake certificate. Are you even embarrassed, Daniel?”
“Dr. Pacheco, I never thought you’d be involved in something like this,” another one said.
“Dr. Pacheco, you’re usually so respected, and we treat you with the utmost respect. But this is a serious case. What’s with the mess here?” someone sneered.
“Grant, the evidence is clear. Why aren’t you making arrests?”
The crowd quickly turned against them, even implicating Daniel. His face darkened. “You guys…”
Quiana’s laugh was icy, sending a chill down everyone’s spine. “You think you can catch me?”
“And if I do?” the challenge was thrown back.
“Faking evidence and pretending to be a forensic expert? That’s a crime. Who else should we arrest?” came the response.
“What are you waiting for, Grant?”
Grant hesitated, his face tense. “I… I…”
“How dare you,” a deep, cold voice interrupted, echoing from outside just as Grant was about to speak.
The room fell silent as everyone turned to the newcomer. “Julius… Julius?”
He rolled in on a wheelchair, his striking features shrouded in a gloomy aura. He played with a scalpel, its gleam a stark contrast to the cold, unwavering look in his eyes.
Grant’s body tensed. “Mr. Hawley, what brings you here?”
Julius glanced at Quiana, his voice calm as he adjusted the blanket on his lap. “I’m here to support my fiancée,”
