The True Heiress Slays (Quiana) novel Chapter 80

The next day, at the film set.

Everyone’s gaze was on

on her–curious, wary, and strangely respectful. Not a single whisper could be heard.

“Quianal” Cassie waved at Quiana, her eyes filled with admiration. “You’re amazing. A forensic experti

Quiana shrugged. “Just a hobby”

Forensics as a hobby. The thought would probably drive med students mad.

Cassic forced a smile. “And your side gigs include selling screen protectors, fortune–telling, and pills.

Quiana replied, “I’m done with the staks”

“About time. With your looks, setting up a stall was such a waste,” Cassie joked, then asked, “But you know forchsics–why didn’t you pursue it?”

Quiana paused, her thick lashes lowering to conceal her expression. “That is my dream.”

“Why is everyone just standing around? Get to makeup aren’t we starting soon?” came Jack’s voice, though still blunt; he wasn’t as aggressive as before.

In the makeup room, a young makeup artist named Maya began working on Quiana’s look,

Maya filled in Quiana’s brows twice as thick, applied a heavy, uneven layer of powder, leaving her face ghostly pale, and smudged lipstick around her mouth as if she’d been drinking blood.

Quiana looked at her in the mirror. “You’re from Aura Studio, right?”

Aura Studio was one of the top makeup teams in Janivielle.

Maya straightened with pride. “Yes.”

Quiana wiped her mouth with a tissue, giving a wry smile. “Do you think your skills are worthy of Aura Studio?”

Maya’s hand shook, accidentally drawing a line with the eyebrow pencil that extended to Quiana’s temple. She steadied herself and replied, “I’m just doing what fits your character”

Just then, a sudden scream came from outside.

“I didn’t mean tol” someone was pleading.

What do you mean you didn’t mean to? Did the water magically spill itself on me?” Winona’s voice rang out, followed by Lena’s mocking tone.

it was warm water.

  1. r. If it had been hot, you wouldn’t have enough lives to compensate for it. Now

The supporting actress, Eliott, sneered, “Lucky for you, it was warm we’re just asking you to kneel and apologize.”

“She’s just a makeup artist. You’ve already slapped hyer and forced an apology, and now you want her to kneel?” Cassie couldn’t help but protest, only to be pulled back by a colleague from the same agency.

It was someone from the same company. “What are you doing?” Cassie frowned.

The other whispered, “Quiana has backing. Doyou? That’s Winona, and she has Keith Hawley behind her. Do you want to drag the whole company into

this?

In show business, the last thing you wanted was to cross powerful forces. Winona represented one.

“Don’t act like we’re family?” Gulana raced an eyebrow “Mom only had one daughter, and that’s you.”
