hapter 99: Kidnapped
Charlotte sat in the VIP seat closest to Cedric. Although it was called a meeting, it was more like Cedric’s personal concert. He was an unparalleled musical genius, skilled at playing instruments and had an incredibly pleasant singing voice. He sat there quietly, playing the guitar and singing, white his fans were captivated and unable to tear themselves away. Time flew by, and the meeting soon came to an end.
Cedric didn’t interact much with the fans, just focused on playing and singing. Most of the time, he seemed distant, like stars in the distant sky. However, in front of Charlotte, he was a different person, unbelievably gentle.
After the meeting, Cedric planned to personally drive Charlotte home. “Did I sing well?” he asked with a charming smile, blinking his beautiful eyes. Charlotte couldn’t dampen his excitement, so she earnestly replied, “You sang beautifully.”
Cedric chuckled, “Can’t you give me a bit more praise… Oh well.” He withdrew his gaze, murmuring as if talking to himself, “There are some songs I sing specifically for you.”
Charlotte was slightly surprised by his words, “Really?”
“Of course,” Cedric’s handsome face was illuminated by the dim light, looking particularly attractive. “Why else would I send you the ticket and invite you to my meeting?”
Speaking of which, Cedric extended his “magic claws” to Charlotte’s head and gave it a good rub. Charlotte was already used to it. However, she started to worry if Cedric would rub her hair off.
“Take me to Greenside Garden in South Mountain,” Charlotte said, noting the time was getting late, urging Cedric to drive.
She stated her destination.
Cedric frowned, “Aren’t you living in Brighton Bay?”
Charlotte hesitated for a moment, but ultimately told the truth, “Uncle, I’m already married.”
Cedric’s expression froze, a trace of astonishment flickering in his eyes. “You’re so young yet you’re already married?”
Charlotte calmly replied, “I’m not that young, am I?”
Cedric looked at her intently, “But in my heart, you’re still a child.”
After saying this, he couldn’t help but furrow his brow, his face turning serious, “The Bellerose Family actually let you marry so early? Is it because of that marriage contract?”
At this point, Cedric’s expression became even more unpleasant, “If it’s for the sake of the contract… I remember the person from the Foster family has leg problems and isn’t that attractive?”
Charlotte hadn’t expected Cedric to know about this.
“It is indeed because of the contract,” she admitted.
Cedric clenched his fist, a frosty chill filling his eyes, “They forced you?”
Charlotte immediately shook her head, “No… it was more of my own choice.”
“Your own choice?” Cedric repeated, seemingly struggling to understand Charlotte’s perspective.
“Uncle,” Charlotte didn’t want to discuss this matter any further, so she softly called out to him, “Don’t worry, I’m doing well.”
Cedric stared at her thoughtfully, seemingly contemplating the truth behind Charlotte’s words.
After a while, he let out a gentle sigh, “If things aren’t going well, just tell me. I’ll storm right in and teach that Fourth Young Master of the Foster family
a lesson, and then make him kneel and divorce you, leaving him with nothing!”
A soft chuckle escaped Charlotte’s lips. It seemed amusing to envision Max in this scenario.
“Okay, she replied, smiling.

Chapter 99: Kidnapped
In the end, Cedric drove and dropped Charlotte off at the entrance of Greenside Garden.
He had no intention of going inside, “I heard the Fourth Young Master Foster has mobility issues, prefers peace and quiet, and dislikes visitors, so won’t go in.”
In reality, Cedric was afraid that if he went inside, he wouldn’t be able to control his urge to give the Fourth Young Master Foster a beating. Why would someone with physical limitations like him force Charlotte into such a difficult situation?
Charlotte didn’t say much, just responded with a simple “okay.”
After getting out of the car and watching the sleek Ferrari get farther away, she leisurely walked towards the entrance of Greenside Garden.
At the entrance, she heard the sound of a wheelchair scraping against the ground.
arlotte’s sharp senses picked up on it.
A wheelchair… Could it be Max personally coming out to meet her?
Indeed, she was coming back a bit late today.
With this thought, a faint tinge of joy washed over Charlotte’s heart.
She looked up and turned her gaze towards the direction of the sound.
Sure enough, a tall and handsome man was sitting in a wheelchair, facing her. In the dim light, Charlotte couldn’t make out his facial features and expression. He appeared like a silent statue, exuding an air of mystery.
She tilted her lips slightly and hurriedly walked over, “Max, how come you’re out here?”
When she was just a meter away from Max-
A sudden alarm rang in Charlotte’s mind. Years of living on the edge had made her highly sensitive to danger.
In this moment, an inexplicable sense of danger washed over her. Charlotte’s nerves instinctively tensed, adopting a defensive posture.
She suddenly realized that the man sitting in the wheelchair in front of her might not be Max after all!
However, it was too late-
As she moved to step back, a swift, agile figure emerged from behind her. In the blink of an eye, he unexpectedly plunged a slender needle into
Charlotte’s neck.
It was a tranquilizer.
And the concentration was quite high.
Although it wasn’t lethal, it was enough to render Charlotte completely powerless.
Charlotte clenched her fist but couldn’t resist the effects of the tranquilizer. Her body tilted, and she fell to the ground, helpless.
Moments before losing consciousness, she saw the tall man standing up from the wheelchair in front of her, his previously blurred face expesed in the bright moonlight-
It wasn’t Max.
It was a completely unfamiliar face.
The other person was very clever.
He had disguised as Max to lure her in.
Only Max could make her let her guard down.
Under normal circumstances, she wouldn’t have fallen so easily for the trap…
Charlotte thought this way and eventually drifted into a deep unconsciousness, losing all awareness.

Chapter 99: Kidnapped
The person behind removed the needle from Charlotte’s neck, and then ordered the man who had impersonated Max. “Horyngend carry keep the boss waiting.”
“Yes,” the man nodded and proceeded to lift Charlotte, carrying her on his shoulders.
Greenside Garden.
Max had spent the entire day in his study.
By the time he finished the last piece of work, the clock pointed at exactly ten o’clock.
Operating his wheelchair, he left the study and headed straight to Charlotte’s bedroom.
Except for that brief glance in the morning, he hadn’t seen Charlotte all day.
He wanted to check if the young girl was truly upset.
If she was already asleep, he would just check if she was resting well…
With these thoughts, Max pushed open the bedroom door-
But it was completely empty inside.
Charlotte seemed to have never returned.
“If there’s a deduction, it should only be taken from Fatima’s salary!”
Fatima was surrounded by several maids, her face alternating between pale and flushed.
Being deducted from and scolded didn’t bother her much. What bothered her was that Mr. Foster was punishing her for that woman, Charlotte…
Max returned to his study.
He picked up his phone and dialed Charlotte’s number.
