Chapter 9: Enrollment
Charlotte could have easily shaken off the person tailing her in countless ways, as their tracking skills were remarkably amateurish. Howeve chose to ignore the situation, allowing them to continue their pursuit while she hided her time.
Returning alone to Shallow Bay, she overheard Christopher and Vanessa quarreling in the villa’s living room.
“That Village she came from doesn’t even have a primary school. She probably never received any education and doesn’t even recognize letters” Vanessa lounged on the sofa with a disdainful tone.
“That’s why we’re sending her to school, Christopher responded.
why place her at Emperor Star University? Everyone there is elite, and you’re throwing an illiterate like her into the mix. Isn’t that endarrassing” Vanessa retorted.
Vanessa’s voice grew louder and more contemptuous. “I think she should just attend any random school. Or better yet, stay home and avoid embarrassing us outside. It’s enough for Eleanor and Edward to have promising futures.”
“I put in a lot of effort to secure a spot for her at Emperor Star University. Regardless of the situation. Lily is our biological daughter, and she should have the same opportunities as Eleanor, Christopher sighed. “I know her foundation isn’t strong, and she might struggle at Emperor Star, but she needs an education.”
Vanessa sported coldly. “With her condition, I doubt she even comprehend her studies. Don’t be surprised if Emperor Star expels her.”
Unbeknownst to them, Charlotte stood nearby, listening to their conversation with a fair smile. In her previous life, Christopher had secured an enrollment spot for her at Emperor Star University as well, which she had declined. The renowned university was highly sought after, but in her eyes, even its most distinguished professors weren’t capable to teach her. However, this time, Charlotte had a change of heart. She wanted to show Vanessh that she was more capable than she appeared
Charlotte swiftly completed her enrollment procedures for Emperor Star University.
