Chapter 45: Taken by Shock
After saying goodbye to Max, Charlotte got back into Christopher’s car and returned to the villa in Brighton Bay.
She was about to move out, and Christopher couldn’t help but feel some reluctance in his heart. “Charlotte, do you really want to move out? You’re still young. You’re still studying, and there’s no need for you to live with Mr. Foster.”
Charlotte understood his hesitance, but instead of staying at Brighton Bay, she was more willing to stay by Max’s side.
“Dad,” she called softly, her tone a rare gentleness. “I will come back to see you more often in the future.”
When the words were said, Christopher could not say anything else and just let out a long sigh.
So was that engagement that was accidentally made more than ten years ago a good thing or a bad thing?
Originally, he thought it was a great thing…
Now that he saw his own daughter marrying a handicapped person, he did not dare show his face. Christopher felt very uncomfortable.
The two of them entered the hall of the villa.
Eleanor came down the stairs.
Although she had slept for a day and a night, her head was still foggy.
Last night, she had no memory of what happened after she drank the orange juice.
However, there were many people who helped her remember how she made a fool of herself last night…
Olivia, Rana, and her friends who attended the banquet, and even those who didn’t attend the party, all came to ask her why she suddenly went crazy last night and also gave her a detailed description of her horrible “performance.”
Eleanor listened and felt nothing but shame and extreme embarrassment.
She wished she could never go out or see anyone.
Her face was completely disgraced!
How could she face these people in the future?
She just wanted to find a hole in the ground to burrow into and hide!
She did not understand why Charlotte drank the orange juice that she had tampered with, and nothing happened to her. Instead, she looked like she had been tricked!
Was it a mistake?
But she saw everything with her own eyes.
She had a headache and doubts. She was embarrassed and ashamed!
Now her mood had calmed down a bit.
Although she had made a fool of herself yesterday, there was something to be happy about–she had actually gotten rid of the marriage agreement with Max Foster.
This was definitely an unexpected surprise.
Before, just the thought of marrying an ugly cripple made her depressed and heartbroken, so much so that she couldn’t sleep.
Now that the dust had settled, Charlotte got married to him.
Everything was over.
Chapter 45: Taken by Shock
She didn’t have to be afraid anymore,
“Sister.” When Eleanor saw Charlotte coming back from outside, she curled her lips into a smile and asked with feigned concern. “I heard that you went to get a license with the son of the Foster family today. How was it? Were you intimidated by his appearance?”
Charlotte, of course, heard the malice and unkindness in Eleanor’s words.
She also curled her lips and smiled back. “Yes, I was scared.”
