Chapter 53: Sleep Well?
Her original plan was to use the fear of thunder as an excuse to sneak into Max’s room.
Of course, she wanted to sleep with Max.
But she was afraid that the man would not be able to accept her for a while and would just reject her, so she had to settle for the next best thing and offered to sleep on the floor instead.
She hadn’t expected him to take the initiative to ask.
Charlotte couldn’t help but feel her heart leap, her heart colored with sweet joy.
Her eyes shone brightly, and the corner of her lips curved up in a nice looking arc. “Max, I sleep very calm and still. You don’t have to worry.”
Having said that, Charlotte moved her own pillow and blanket onto the bed.
Max’s bed was huge. It could not only fit two people but was also still spacious enough for three or four people!
She organized everything and immediately lay down on the bed.
Max was only a short distance away from her.
She could even feel the man’s breath.
Feeling that the young lady next to her was staring at him, Max couldn’t help but turn his head sideways to meet Charlotte’s burning gaze and say in a weak voice, “Still not sleeping yet?”
“I’m going to sleep right now,” she replied with a smile, and then, as if playing a prank, she suddenly came to the man’s ear and said in a sweet and delightful voice. “Max, does this count as our wedding night?”
The girl’s sweet voice landed in his ears.
It was like a little feather brushing by, making him feel a little itchy and warm.
Max’s body froze slightly.
Just when he thought that Charlotte would make another move, she retreated again, burying her entire body in the pillow and mumbling, “Good night, Max.”
She then closed her eyes and fell asleep.
In his heart, there was an inexplicable sense of loss.
He was silent for a while, then replied with a low, deep voice, “Good night.”
But it was clear that it would not be a night of restful sleep.
Late at night, halfway through his sleep, Max found that someone was causing a disturbance behind him.
Charlotte was unaware that she was moving closer and closer to him, her arm encircling his entire torso, and her little head leaning on his shoulder…
And her thigh was even resting on his legs.
Max furrowed his brow and tried to pull Charlotte’s arm away.
Unexpectedly, the young lady’s strength was quite great…
Charlotte had her eyes closed and her whole body seemed to be in a deep sleep. Max did not want her to come closer, but on the other hand, he could not bear to wake her up as well.
Thinking about what she had just said about “sleeping still,” Max found it funny.
Was that what she meant by being a calm sleeper?

Max just let her pester him.
He closed his eyes and went back to sleep.
But suddenly, a restlessness that bothered him emerged from his body.
Hot breath poured out of his chest.
He rarely had such moments.
The feeling made him feel bad.
He calmed his breathing and slowly fell back asleep.
Early the next morning.
