It turned out to be zhang Jue's apprentice, Karen.

Darryl scowled at the sight of Karen. He never liked her at all because she was arrogant and domineering, thinking that she was zhang Jue’s apprentice.

Darryl groaned and warned Karen in a stern tone, " Okay, you can come with me, but let's be clear about this. If something happens, follow my orders! ” Darryl felt conflicted about allowing Karen to stay with him. He disliked the idea of a woman like Karen doing an investigation with him, but Jack and his followers made strange appearances. For the sake of the wellbeing of the people, he set aside his personal grievances.

"Why should I listen to you?" Karen replied curtly.

‘This person is my Master's number one enemy. If I submit myself under his command, how will I face my Master in the future?’ she thought.

"If you don't want to listen to me then go on and do your own investigation. I'll do mine," Darryl said.

"Alright, fine!" Karen was irritated, but she still nodded and agreed.

The poison in her body had not been completely eliminated, so she was not as powerful. It was too dangerous for her to wander by herself and investigate the event.

Darryl frowned and sneered when Karen finally agreed to his terms. "Don't think that I don't know what you’re thinking. If you’re thinking about using me, you can give up now.”

With that said, Darryl walked straight out of the palace!
