Finally, after more than an hour of hard work, Darryl managed to release his acupoints.

Before Darryl could breathe a sigh of relief, he footsteps from outside the prison door. The footsteps were very light. Then, the prison door was pushed ajar. A charming figure forced in through the small gap quickly.

'F*ck! Did Grady send someone to kill me?'

Darryl was startled, and he quickly looked to the door. He felt relieved when he saw the newcomer.

The person was wearing the knight's armor, and she had exquisite features and charming curves. Besides that, she appeared to be heroic and righteous. It was Thea.

"Thea, why are you here?" Darryl asked in surprise.

Thea did not answer but walked forward and checked out Darryl's wounds. Then, she scolded him. "Darryl, why wouldn' t you listen to my advice during the day? You insisted on going against the Mayor and those prominent families! How can you possibly be their match single-handedly?" 1

Thea looked upset when she told Darryl off, but one could see how worried she was through her eyes.

Darryl breathed a sigh of relief and smiled bitterly. " Did you take the risk to come here just to tell me off? Have you fallen for me?"

Thea blushed instantly, she said, "shut up and quit joking! You almost died!" Then, she quickly helped Darryl remove the iron fetters.

"The prison is low on guards now. I will escort you away from Pearl city. Don't come back here again!" Thea said solemnly.

Darryl felt warm and moved, but he could not help asking, "You want to let me go?"

Sigh!

Thea sighed; her eyes reflected her complex mood. "I investigated Maverick's subordinate, Amos, yesterday. Grady bribed him, but I don't have enough evidence to press charges. I believe that you were slandered!"

Then, Thea changed her tone. "The Mayor is very close with the McClaren family and the other families. It is really unwise of you to go against them today. I'm letting you go tonight. Not because I like you, but for justice! Understand?"

Darryl was quiet after listening to Thea. He admired Thea for her righteousness.

Even though Thea, the female knight, was not very powerful in terms of strength, she was exceptional with her strong sense of justice.

Darryl asked emotionally, "What will happen to you after you let me go?"

Thea smiled. "Don't worry! No one saw me come in here. Time is running out. Let's go quickly!"

After that, Thea left the prison with Darryl.

The Pearl City prison was not huge, so they could move around pretty fast. Soon, Darryl and Thea arrived at the gate of the city.
