Chapter 3455
'F*ckit! Madame Pandora, that bitch! She lied to me.'
The furious Marshall glanced around at the crowd, but he suddenly realized that Madame Pandora said she was ill and would not be coming to the palace.
Then, Marshall had attracted a lot of gazes on him; those people were starting to gossip in a low and murmuring voice.
"What's going on?"
"Mister Darren, weren't you having a good conversation with Mister Marshall earlier? Why the change of expression?"
"What's wrong with Mister Marshall? His face is so pale!"
The people were passing their comments. Darryl ignored them and kept his eyes on Marshall at all times.
In the very next second, Darryl took a deep breath and strolled toward Marshall. He spoke loud and clear. "After I saw through your tricks last night, I kept the brain-eating worms.
"And when I poured wine for you just now, I put the brain-eating worms into your glass.
"Speaking of which, I have never heard of brain-eating worms before, so I really would like to see how people react to it after taking it."
Marshall heard Darryl, and he sensed chills all over his body. He stared with vexation at Darryl, almost passing out in a rage.
'F*ck! I thought I had a chance to embarrass Darryl in public. I never expected that I would shoot myself in the foot. Then again, I did not notice anything unusual when he poured me the wine just now.'
'That brain-eating worm... How did he put it in my glass?'
Marshall still had no idea that Darryl was very good with the Shadow Skill; no one had yet been able to see through it when Darryl performed the stunt.
"Mister Marshall!"
Darryl grinned as he noticed Marshall's face getting uglier. He mocked him. "Is there anything else you would like to say?"
"You-"
Marshall's face looked grim. Under the attack of the brain-eating worm, he trembled and yelled in despair, "Darren, how dare you poison me in public."
Marshall looked around and finally landed his gaze on the Queen and shouted, "Your Majesty, Darren has done something bad to me. You have to seek justice for me."
The Queen heard Marshall's plea and took a deep breath, she looked blankly at Darryl, not knowing what to do.
The Queen knew nothing about the brain-eating worm incident. She had no idea what to do in that unexpected situation.
Then, Darryl sneered and said to Marshall, "Cut the crap. It's useless. You decided to use the brain-eating worm on me. Now, you get to have a taste of your own medicine. You brought that to yourself!"
"Bullsh*t!" Marshall had gone mad. He was shouting in a frenzy of rage. "What brain-eating worm?! I don't know what you are talking about? On the contrary, it is a fact that you poisoned me in public today."
"I am the garrison's Commander-in-chief. If something goes wrong today, you will never escape the responsibility."
Marshall bellowed out loud.
Marshall was confident that no one in the room knew about the secret plot he had put up against Darren, and Darren's one-sided statement could not be taken into account as a piece of evidence.
Everyone in the entire hall broke into a tumult.
